As well as a huge pile of paperwork, my step-father also left a huge collection of CDs, DVDs and PC games for us to sort through. Actually, the vast majority of it is CDs, there's easily got to be around 200. Nursing homes just need as much contributions as charity shops though, and at least the items are going straight to the place they're needed as it were.

There's no Freecycle in my area. There was a huge falling out a while back and all the local groups are now Freegle. I couldn't be doing with all the drama and politics so I left. I'd rather donate them to a charity shop to be honest. There's one in the village which supports the local hospice so I'd probably take them there. I prefer to contribute to local places.

I agree though that the nursing home might not be the best place for those particular films. Both charity shops and Freecycle sound like good ideas to me. Maybe list them on Freecycle and if they go unclaimed, take them to a charity shop?

Like I just said to Blue, there's no Freecycle in my area any more. There was a huge falling out with the network last year and it all went to Freegle instead. I'd probably donate them to a charity shop in the village that supports the local hospice, I prefer to support local things like that.
