Wow. that was great. I did not see it coming! Very cool idea, and well executed. My only regret is having read it so early in the morning I cannot think of anything appropriately profound to say in feedback!

Poor Rodney... anonymous November 14 2006, 04:40:51 UTC
Wow. John is so screwed up. How he thinks in this story is amazingly painful. First, he obviously betrayed his lover and friends by stunning them. Second, he traps himself in the dilation field so he can stop the human!wraith from ascending, and third he starts a relationship with one of the human!wraiths.

I really don't understand his reasoning. It is okay to go into the field and kill them to prevent them ascending but it is not okay to stop the field from the outside? Adding in the multiple betrayals and wow, I feel terrible, mostly for Rodney. Sure, John is suffering, but that is his own twisted fault.

Nicely done! This was certainly though-provoking. If you decide to flesh this universe out, I will certainly read it. :-)

That was such a good story: lovely language, great pacing, unsettling themes, multi-layered. I could definitely read and reread and find new layers and new meaning.

Thanks so much. :-)

Wow, that was impressive! A truly original premise and very well written. And, as someone said before, a bit like a punch to the gut - in the best possible way! :) Admittedly, I guessed who Susuro was early on, but it didn't take away from the quality of the story at all! Thank you for sharing.

Well, that makes one of you. I guess it depends on how much your read into the first scene. Just for curiosity's sake, when did you guess it?

Thanks so much for reading.

I think I guessed it when Sheppard said "You never told me your name." That, in combination with the spoiler warning for 'Common Ground' in the header.
