Gotta be honest, when I saw the previews for this one I was seriously wondering what they were thinking...but, as usual for this season, they surprised me.
Each of these potentially "nothing much" episodes have held something significant for me. Something about our boys that we/I needed to be reminded of or didn't actually know. That’s so true, and it’s one of the things I’m really appreciating about season 11, even the episodes that I didn’t care for that much. Just as I’m really appreciating Sam and Dean being Sam and Dean, more than they have in years. It’s so beautiful to see. Also, we got another episode with fully fleshed-out, multi-layered one-off characters? It's like so many of my wishes are coming true

I, too, was expecting to not like this episode. I was expecting over-broad humor and OOC boys...and got an episode I absolutely loved!
Dean meeting Gunner--it was funny because we saw Dean unable to be his cool self--but he wasn't over-the-top absurd, to Gunner he acted like just another fan who was a little awestruck. (Like we hope we look like when we meet the boys

You deserve a medal for positivity - you are a *kind* fan. You always find the good points for me when I am struggling to see them - not in the performances (I *always* enjoy the performances of these guys) but in the show (& by that I suppose I mean the writers and yes, the show runners themselves for not insisting on something...better?). I had no inkling of what this was going to be about, not having seen any promos, so when it got underway I was still open-minded and, like you, loved the insight into the boys' family-times when growing up, loved the way it was used to show new sides to them, LOVED what JA in particular did with it (the man is a such a talent) but *sighs* ...really? Everything else I just did not enjoy. Crowley, patheticallypatheticHell, Lucifer (I totally agree with you about this variation of him), the weak storyline hanging limply off the whole wrestling scene peg (I gather some of the wrestlers were actually big names in the real thing but they mean nothing to me and celebrity casting is almost always painful

It was so great to see you in London, Maz. Thank you for reading and commenting and...well, if I wasn't positive, I don't know that it would be worth my time to keep watching, y'know? I know there are all kinds of things we can call out as disappointing, but if I did that...I'd just be sad. And there are too many other things I can be sad about.
So with our show, I'll find the light in it and stay the course. :)
Hi Gaelic. First, let me apologize for not commenting on the last episode. I read and loved your Ramble but didn't have time to reply immediately and of course, forgot. :( But I did like the episode and loved seeing Dean in the sub. But that end scene - Dean fearing for Cas' existence, wow, that was powerful. But here we are in another episode and there is no mention of the boys putting up a sigil against angels. If they didn't do that, Casifer could pop in at any time. Oh writers

Another great episode! One after another this season :)
Regarding the 'hand of God' items, what confuses me is how they got them in their boxes in the first place, surely someone must have touched them to put them in the box in the first place, maybe they used gloves ;)
I've missed Crowley too and I'm sure he'll be heading straight for the Winchesters.
I'm actually quite sorry that the boys now that Cas is not Cas at the moment because I'll miss Lucifer pretending to be Cas, I'll miss the interaction between fake Cas and the boys.

All I can think is that they didn't have direct contact with them, like you said: used gloves. But over thousands of years?? That's pretty remarkable. Unless they were imbued with power later...? Who knows.
Thanks as always for reading and taking time to comment. :)

THIS.
My only serious complaint about this episode was Lucifer - the more we see of him, the more un-Lucifer-like he seems to me.
Yeah, I want him to be SCARY. Not a big bully you want to teach a lesson to.
Sorry it took me forever to reply to this. Thank you as always for reading and commenting.

how fantastic to see it's not been totally beaten out of him by the crap he's endured these last seasons!
This, exactly.
