I think I'll wait until you're mostly finished with this before I read any more of it. Maybe I'm just getting sensitive in my old age but I can't handle the angst the way I used to, no matter how beautifully written that angst may be.
Somehow leaving it to Michael to break any news about Brian gives me the willies.
And having Dorian lying in wait to pounce gives me chills.
Ron, get on the damn plane, and go collect your love. (Words I never thought I'd type!) And, take Armani with you!
One of my secret Brian scenarios is him having an older lover that treats him well and knows how to handle him. And, jerks Brian's chain when it is needed. Like now.
Thanks for another chapter so soon (despite the willies and chills)!
Loving this! I was a little confused by the first chapter. Glad I came back for more. Do like Ron and Brian together when Ron isn't acting nutso. I'm sure that's a clinical term. Thanks, Cindy
What a gorgeous picture of Gale (or Brian)! And what a great chapter to continue the story. Brian is such a complication, and knows how to make life difficult. Defensive, defensive, defensive! But he does have a heartful of hurts to protect: his parents, his sister, his life on the street, life as a Gay man, his multiple sex partners, his son, Justine and his mix up feelings about Ron. Ahavia
This is a fantastic chapter. I love that Ron is willing to put himself out there on the line for Brian, but also willing to stay away if that is really what Brian wants and needs...two elements of the puzzle. What Ron wants and needs are secondary. I saw aspects of the old Mikey in Dorian, but again, in a more grown-up way than Cowlip ever portrayed it. A beautiful chapter. I am willing to wait as I just know you are going to unfold this story in a lovely, realistically complex way that does justice to what these men have been through. When they do finally come together, as I hope they do, it should be amazing.
No, I think it isn't any wonder. It is realistic. One of the nice things about writers of a certain age, ahem, is that they have a great deal of life experience to draw upon. Some people repeat patterns, but it is a great thing when they break free of patterns that are destructive to or inhibitive to their happiness. And there is no one path to get there, as your streams show. Some paths rings truer to some of us, than others, and that is one of the wonderful things about your writing. You have the ability to put your whole heart behind each scenario. Brava!

Go get him, Ron.

I'm not thinking of this as an angst-fest. Really.
