This is a fantastic chapter. I love that Ron is willing to put himself out there on the line for Brian, but also willing to stay away if that is really what Brian wants and needs...two elements of the puzzle. What Ron wants and needs are secondary. I saw aspects of the old Mikey in Dorian, but again, in a more grown-up way than Cowlip ever portrayed it.
A beautiful chapter. I am willing to wait as I just know you are going to unfold this story in a lovely, realistically complex way that does justice to what these men have been through. When they do finally come together, as I hope they do, it should be amazing.

No, I think it isn't any wonder. It is realistic. One of the nice things about writers of a certain age, ahem, is that they have a great deal of life experience to draw upon. Some people repeat patterns, but it is a great thing when they break free of patterns that are destructive to or inhibitive to their happiness. And there is no one path to get there, as your streams show. Some paths rings truer to some of us, than others, and that is one of the wonderful things about your writing. You have the ability to put your whole heart behind each scenario. Brava!

That's why I love the format of the Streams.
I can explore those different choices. And
there are a thousand possibilities.

I think readers have to remember that this is a
much changed Ron -- he's five years beyond the
place he was when he re-met Brian in "QT." In
those years he's had successes and failures --
and he's had one long relationship (with Dorian).
He's grown -- and so has Brian. Brian has also
given in to love -- and seen his lover leave him
once again. Is it any wonder that Brian is retreating?
Doing his "hermit" routine, as Michael says.
