Chapter 3 “You have got to be kidding me!?” Cristina looked at George with anger and shock all over her face as he told her over lunch about his conversation with Callie
“I wish I was”
“Are you death, blind and stupid or are you just the president of Moronland? There’s no way for you not to know that her entire world revolves around you”
“Cris..”
“Shut up Bambi - not finished here. For the life of me I can’t figure out why, I mean she’s a smart chic when it comes to other things but apparently for reasons beyond my understanding you’re the only one who has a keycard to her vagina.”
“Cristina!”
“What? You’re a doctor George, vagina is a medical term. V-a-g-i-n-a. You’re mom has one, I have one - your wife has one, it’s pretty common among the female population”
“I’m not discussing my wife’s vagina with you….I- I…I’m just not!”
“Yeah, the way you keep messing up you won’t be doing anything to it either”
“I’m leaving now, this is me walking away Cristina” George got up and headed off to find Callie. Cristina was right; he knew that there was no way for this baby to be anything but his. He just hoped that it wasn’t too late to make things right - the way they should have been in the first place before he was dumb enough to sleep with his best friend.
__________
When he found Callie she was down at the clinic helping Bailey un-pack supplies. He waited for Bailey to leave and when she did he started walking towards Callie. As he approached her she took one look at him, turned around and kept working.
“Go away George”
“Callie”
“Go away, there’s absolutely nothing you could say that would interest me for one second.”
“I’m the biggest jack-ass alive ”
Callie nodded
“That you are, but I already knew that so - no, still not interesting”
“Callie, there’s no excuse for what I said to you - none. The only thing I can say is that I was in complete shock and I couldn’t think straight. I know now - without a doubt - that this is my baby.”
As he waited for Callie to reply he suddenly felt someone smack him hard on the backside of his head.
“Are you dumb beyond words O’MALLEY?” Bailey yelled at him
“Ow….that really hurt” Geroge said as his hand automatically went to the back of his head.
“Oh, no it didn’t” Bailey shook her head “Do you know what really hurts O’Malley? What really hurts is to have your husband - the one who promised to love and cherish you for all days to come - to have him accuse you of getting yourself pregnant with another mans baby when you have done nothing but loved and supported him and been a faithful wife in every single way - about ten thousand times more faithful than you deserved by the way - THAT’S SOMETHING, THAT REALLY HURTS O’MALLEY!”
“Bailey…I…” Callie tried to get a word in edgewise.
“Let me handle this Torres, he has had it coming for months and I have yet to see you take care of it properly.”
Callie just smiled at her and gave her permission to continue.
“I know I told you that you weren’t a bad person, but this George O’Malley - this almost makes me go back on my words. What happened to you? You were a good guy once, a good guy who helped me give birth to my son - what happened to that guy? It's not bad enough to betray your pregnant wife? You have to go and make matters worse by implying that she’s as cheap and easy between the sheets as ‘the idiots formerly known as my interns’ ?”
Bailey stopped talking, not so much because she was out of things to say, but because she was all out of oxygen. George took the opportunity to speak up
“I’m sorry….to the both of you, I’m so sorry for betraying you in every way possible and letting you down. Dr.Bailey, you are right. I’m not the person I used to be, I don’t know why or how this transformation happened but at least I see it clearly now and I really want to go back to being the man I once was.”
George walked up to Callie and took her hands into his as he looked into her eyes - eyes that slowly were watering up.
“Callie, I love you and I want to treat you right. I want to be the best father and husband you can ever imagine, so please, please give me a chance to prove that I love you and that you can trust me”
Callie wanted to hate him so bad but all she could see was his honest and loving eyes.
“I hate that I’m still so into you” she said as the tears began to fell down her cheeks.
“I’ll make myself worthy of it this time, I promise” George said as he softly kissed away her tears.
Bailey watched them for a little while, before she left saying:
“You better behave yourself this time O’Malley . I know your mama and I ain't scared of calling her”

A few weeks went by and George did everything in his power to treat Callie like a princess in every way he could think of. She was still living with Cristina but George came by almost every night, ready to pamper her in every way. One day as Callie got out of the scrub room she was startled by George sneaking up behind her and putting his hands over her eyes.
“Ready for a surprise gorgeous?” he said as he walked away with her.
“Shit you scared me!.......What are you doing George?” Callie said giggling.
“You’ll see”
A little while later they stepped in to the storage room in the basement that once had been Callie’s home.
“Okay, you can look now”
“Oh my God!” Callie gasped
She looked around and saw that the bed was back and beside it there was a small table filled with scented candles. George had set it up so that it looked like all of her stuff was still there - a stereo, a playstation and last but not least, a monkey on the bed that looked exactly like the one Callie had.
“When did you have time to do this? You’ve pretty much been in surgery all day”
“Yeah, I’ve been down here pretty much every night this week. I thought that this would be the perfect way to remember the time when we were all good, the place where it all stared.”
“It looks almost exactly as it did back then” Callie looked around.
“Yeah, I had it memorized in my mind, this place represents the happiest time in my life. Do you remember the night Burke kicked me out of his apartment and you cut my hair and we…you know” George smiled at her
“Are you asking me if I remember the first time we made love? Of course I do - it was magic.” Callie smiled back at him.
“Well….I was thinking that maybe we could bring the magic back, if you know what I’m saying.” George grinned
“I’m not sleeping with you George, I told you - we have to take things slow and you have to prove that you are trustworthy.”
“How bout I prove it right here” George said as he planted a soft kiss on her cheek.”
Callie smiled as she felt his skin against hers
“Still not convinced”
“Well in that case maybe I should convince you here” He kissed his way down to her neck “And maybe here…” he whispered as he let his tongue dance over her collarbones.
Callie closed her eyes and let her head rest on his.
“Mmmm…you remember all my spots”
“Of course I remember baby, I remember everything about you: how sweet you taste…..what your skin feels against my lips…how it feels to be inside you….” He said as he softly removed her labcoat.
“George, if you ever hurt me again…”
“I won’t. I promise you I won’t”
He quickly got himself out of his clothes before he continued with hers. He took his time undressing her, enjoying every second of it. When she was standing in front of him wearing nothing but a red bra with matching hipsters he had to take a step back and enjoy what he saw.
“God, you’re beautiful!”
“I’m curvy” Callie said in an attempt to make herself remember why this was no good idea.
“Callie….when I said that….I honestly meant it in a good way. I love your curves, you know that.”
He put his arms around her waist, stroked her back as he removed her bra and kissed her deeply. Callie felt the last bit of resistance fade away as he let his lips continue down to her chest.
“I love the way your breast feels in my hands and in my mouth” He said, turning his words into action as he pronounced them.
“I love the softness of your hips and how they feel like heaven to hold when we make love………I love to feel your soft thighs against my hips when I’m inside of you”
Callie moaned with pleasure as she decided that she was ready to be with him in the deepest of ways again.
“Stop talking George, just show me”
She didn’t have to ask him twice. They kissed their way over to the bed and as he laid her down on her back he looked deep into her eyes and realized that he never before had felt so complete as a person as he did in that moment.
“God….. I love you so much Callie”
“I love you too George”
He kissed her lips softly before he let his lips taste every inch of her skin. It was like tasting heaven, just as he remembered it.
In what seemed to be just one move from his hands, he had gotten the sexy hipsters off her and was back to kissing her deeply. His right hand found it’s way down between her thighs, only to feel that her body was ready for him. He positioned himself between her legs and looked deep into her eyes as their bodies became one.
___________
Exactly two months later, Callie woke up in the bedroom that belonged to the new house they had just moved into. It was a small house with two bedrooms but they both thought it was good enough for now. What mattered more to them than finding the perfect house - was being together.
Callie opened her eyes, only to see her husband lying next to her - looking at her. She gave him a smile even though she still felt exhausted.
“What? Was I snoring?”
“No, I was just admiring the work of art that happens to be my wife”
“Well in that case….” Callie said as she leaned over and kissed him
“…In that case you’re going to have to continue to admire it in the shower…..you coming?”
“I always do when I take a shower with you”
“Hey - no dirty talk this early please.” Callie said laughing
“Oh, you know you love it” George said as he kissed her with enough passion to make them both forget about the shower and everything outside of the bed they shared.

As they were getting dressed a few hours later Callie sighed.
“What’s wrong baby?” George said
“One: this dress doesn’t seem fit me anymore. Two: I really don’t want to go to this party”
“Well, one: you’ve never looked more beautiful then you do right know.”
George planted a soft kiss on her lips
“Two: We promised your mom a long time ago that she could throw us this party”
“I know” Callie sighed again
“It’s just that I wish that she would have asked us who to invite from work, and more importantly: who not to invite.”
“Is this about Izzie?” George said hoping that Callie wouldn’t explode on him
“Who else?” Callie said with a weak smile.
In the months that had passed George had made it his whole life to prove to Callie that she was the one - the only one - that he wanted and loved. Izzie had stayed out of there life and when they met at work she went out of her way to be nice to Callie.
“I know that it’s beyond weird to have her there Callie, but I do think that she’s been trying to make it up to you, hasn’t she?”
“She has, but there’s a difference between putting up with someone at work and having them come to your wedding party”
“I know……..but what if I promise you something very special when we get back home?” George said winking at her
“Special as in….?” Callie said snuggling into her husbands arms
"As in well worth waiting for” George said as he kissed her hair.

The party was being held in a small but very classy hotel in the heart of Seattle. As Callie and George got into the ballroom, they were greeted by Izzie who was standing behind the bar.
“Hey guys! Welcome!” Izzie smiled at Callie and George “ They put me in charge of drinks. Here’s some bourbon for you George, and here’s a drink for the mom to be, non-alcohol of course - I made it just for you Callie.”
“Well thanks…..I guess.” Callie said with a smile as she took the drink in her hand and zipped on it as she walked away from the bar and over to the table were her parents was sitting. They both got up as they saw her coming.
“Calliope, you look fantastic” Hector Torres said as he kissed his daughters cheek.
“Thanks dad” Callie smiled at him
“You really do sweetie, come here” Gloria Torres said as she pulled her daughter in for a hug.
“See, that’s what I was saying all along” George said as he came up to them and put his arm around his wife’s waist.”
“George, it’s so nice to see you again” Gloria said and hugged her son-in-law.
“You too Gloria - you too” George smiled at the woman who looked so much like his gorgeous wife that it almost scared him.
Even though they hadn’t expected it, the party turned out really nice. Almost everyone from Seattle Grace Hospital was there and people seemed to be genuinely happy that George and Callie was back together and happy again. Callie kept looking for him all night but Mark was no where to be found.
“Hmmm….maybe he had to stay at work” She thought to herself.

As Callie and George returned home that evening, Callie was shaking.
“I’m freezing”
“You are? It’s really warm in here” George placed his hand on her forehead. “Baby, you’re burning up. Does it feel like you’re
coming down with the flue or something like that?”
“I probably am” Callie said, unable to stop shaking “do you mind if we go straight to bed?”
“I never mind going straight to bed with you” He winked at her
“George”
“I’m just kidding, don’t look so upset”
“It’s not that, it’s…just that.....it hurts so bad in my…….” Callie stopped as she felt a sharp pain in her abdomen that made her knees buckle. She heard George calling for her as she fell to the floor.
“CALLIE!”
