Nicholas Courtney was the ever stoic Brigadier on Doctor Who, a major part of my formative years. I never stopped hoping for an episode of the new show where he would show up just one more time...

Words do not convey the depth of my sadness for this.

I met him at Panopticon 85 back in New Orleans (OMG sooo long ago) and he was quite the fun guest. *sigh*

He did do The Sarah Jane Adventures, if you can see that in the US.

We've seen the first season and I need to catch up after that.

Sarah Jane is the first companion from my era and therefore my favorite. Liz Sladen still swings the character well.
