I am still stuck in a dream I had last night about my career that involved me choosing to take a super scary rickety scaffolding type staircase that was missing steps and swayed to get up to the 6th floor instead of getting help from someone to take the elevator. My intellectual parent are super proud of me having a science PhD and of all their friends who are Drs but seem to have turned their backs on science. No covid vaccine. My dad is planning to take hydochloroquin. My mom who has a biology degree and started work on a MS thinks the vaccine would alter her DNA. Penny doggy is kicking our butts with night time panics. She only calms down at night if I go onto the loveseat and if I try to sleep there it hurts my back. Tonight we are going to try what I could never do with our human baby...letting her cry it out. I am completely exhausted but also extremely sympathetic to my poor pathetic scared angel. annual plan of work
Already stressed out just looking at all the things I have committed myself to doing this year and it is only January. Need to say no but know I won't. Just today I said yes to another field project for this summer, meaning I have 3-5 field projects to spread myself between if they all come through, but 2 summer heavy outreach programs.

Feeling some wearing thin in the household. Not of each other. We seem to have bottomless ability to tolerate each other. But of the situation. I think the lack of being forced to be around others is not good for us mostly introverts. I do miss being around others but I feel it more for its impact on my psychology, a withering of my weak social ( Read more... ) -

I am not complaining about my income, but still feel like there is something off somewhere when my husband made more $ 20 years ago with no training in his field and an unrelated BA than I make now with an MS and PhD in my field.

Anti-christmas
I am even more anti-Christmas than usually this year (except for buying toys for kids). I can usually let it wash over me and politely acknowledge that other people are into it. Completed my bullshit promotion package for work and so happy to get back to doing my job again. Using my high tuned denial skills to not think about the annual review I have to do in a couple weeks that will take ~1 week out of my work week. Of course in a whole different format than the thing I just did so it will take that much.

microgreens versus sprouts
Oh my gosh sprouting is so much faster and easier and takes up less space than growing microgreens. I think I liked the name microgreen. Sprouting is so much more versatile too. Right now I have broccoli and lentil sprouts going. And I needed to do it was a jar, some cheese cloth, and seeds.
