There is, like, real food here, it's amazing.

It is weird how when I have classes and homework and actual deadlines I post all the time, and yet when I am home and have no real obligations whatsoever I fall silent on the internet front. So this is what I have been doing! --I have not been doing very much. A couple weeks ago I convinced my parents to order this big Adobe package (student ( Read more... )

none of you can judge me, i have a crush on every boy, i like comics, episode ramblings: doctor who, my life and welcome to it, supernatural, doctor who, tv tropes will ruin your life, vids and vidding, that guy with the glasses

I certainly hope so--what I've got planned is very different from anything else I've done, so I'm a little nervous about my ability to pull it off (aaaaaaah how do people make things Deep and Interesting aaaaaaah), but I can do my best to try. :D

Ooo~ I love the Nostalgia Chick! I like her better than him too, since I think his Bum Reviews are better than his NC stuff.

I like Read Right To Left on that site, too, but possibly that is because of his hatred of PoT, which is hilarious.

One thing I can say about the Critic over the Chick is that he seems to get more into it--his reactions in general are just bigger, whereas she's much more toned-down. It might be because he does it for a living and she's only part-time, but I find that he does grow on you. I haven't checked out most of the Bum Reviews, though, since I thought the shtick might get a little tiring after so many times. (Ask That Guy, though, is amazing. And terrifying. But mostly amazing.)

I'm guessing Read Right To Left is part of the many sections in Inked Reality I don't know anything about? There are just so many, seriously, the big crossovers are all that keeps me remembering any names at all. And Linkara is the best of that group anyway.

Less nostalgic and more reactionary? I think she does more of the taking a new look at old stuff than he does. Though that may just be because I'm way more familiar with the Disney fare of my childhood. I watch the Bum reviews to see about more current movies.

From Y Ruler Of Time, I think. I haven't even tried to dive into the endless gamer rantings. *_*

Linkara might just be my ideal man okay, there is no judgment here. THERE ARE NICE NERDY FEMINIST GUYS OUT THERE, THE WORLD IS A BEAUTIFUL PLACE.

But yeah, I'm a little hooked on TGWTG (though I haven't seen Kickassia yet and I want to so so much omg). The Critic was the first one I saw, followed by the Chick, Linkara, and Spoony (who's more vitriolic than Critic but also has some awesome MSTs of old FMV games which you should check out, if only so you know what I'm talking about when I randomly type PHANTASMAGORIA!!). I've also gained a liking for Phelous, Film Brain, and the Cinema Snob, if only because the exploitation/horror cinema they cover is so bizarre as to be entertaining in its own right, but I also really like The Bargain Bin Horror, who aren't technically on the site but are adorable and German and also review crappy movies starring killer gingerbread men.

Also there is a fic comm, if you're interested.)

It only took a few episodes before I realized my primary reaction to Linkara was "I WANT ONE". Seriously, how does he not have a girlfriend? THAT IS A CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY.

(Kickassia is amaaaaziiiiiing, everyone just hams it up like there's no tomorrow and Spoony is adorably traumatized and Linkara gets to be Authoritative and basically it is one of the greatest things I have ever seen. Also there's a little bit of Linkara/MarzGurl shippiness, not gonna lie I am down with that.) I've been thinking about looking at more of Spoony's stuff! The intimidating thing about him is that there is just so much, though, he had tons of videos before he joined the site and none of them are organized chronologically. I AM A COMPLETIST, OKAY. But I do love it when he shows up in other stuff and maybe possibly ship Insano with Linkara a little bit shut up you can't judge me, so we shall see. I did look at a couple Cinema Snob episodes, but exploitation/horror isn't really my thing (also I made the mistake of watching his review of The Human ( ... )

I kind of fell for him when he referenced Blake's Seven, tbh. I don't even watch it, but the thought that he does makes me happy, it's just such an obscure nerdy reference. Oh, and the time he let Bennett take a whack at the fanfic he wrote when he was 13. That is the sign of a secure human being ( ... )

Not just fanfic, Pokemon/Digimon/Sailor Moon self-insert with a plot directly stolen from a Doctor Who audio. That is, like. Quite possibly the geekiest thing to have ever existed. A singularity of geekiness, if you will. Also the fact that he was tied up and gagged during that reading was of great interest to me, um.

It's kind of ridiculously amazing that they shot a 90-minute movie in four days, seriously. (And the commentaries and vlogs reveal just how hellish the conditions were--damn, that lot is hardcore. For a bunch of pasty white out-of-shape twentysomething nerds. Actually it's kind of amazing they didn't all die, isn't it.)

I shall look into the Phantasmagoria review, then! This is the beauty of summer vacation: I am completely justified in doing nothing besides watch videos on the internet. OH YEAH.

I've read Daily Show/Colbert Report stuff; I'm used to handwaving it as "it's the characters, not the people". Although I also read J2 so what do I know. I would totally, totally read that epic! I WOULD READ IT SO HARD. FIND ( ... )

I have just spent the last two days going through Atop the Fourth Wall, after having discovered it via Kickassia. Imagine my surprise to see someone on my flist going through the exact same situation XD

and now, the squee: OH GOD ISN'T IT WONDERFUL. I HAVE SUCH A BIG CRUSH ON LINKARA NOW. IT FEELS WEIRD, BECAUSE HE'S A REAL PERSON, I AM UNUSED TO HAVING CRUSHES ON NONFICTIONAL CHARACTERS.

*flails*

re: nostalgia critic/chick: I fucking love Critic. I know he's definitely meaner, but I absolutely adore him. He always seems to say exactly what I was thinking about a particular movie, only better than I could have phrased it XD He and Linkara have that same sarcastic but brilliant sense of humor I love most.

Nostalgia Chick is just fucking wonderful. A lot of her reviews I find less lol-tastic, but only because they're more articulate, thoughtful, and smart as hell. This is not a complaint. Especially since she has made me laugh my ass off (her Transformers & My Little Pony reviews come to mind) just as many times as she's made me ( ... )

I think watching Kickassia is a lot more fun when you are familiar with more of the people in it; I kind of regret only knowing the Critic and the Chick when I watched the Brawl, but at least now I know Linkara and Spoony+Insano so I understand a few more things. "I AM A MAN!" actually makes sense now, woo!

HONEY, I AM HAPPY TO HAVE A CRUSH ON A NONFICTIONAL 3D PERSON AGAIN. A real actual human within my age group! HOW CAN THIS BE. Feminism is sexy, what can I say. As are Doctor Who references.

Critic grew on me! I used to like Chick more than him, but now they are about equal in my mind, I think. Caustic flailing and articulate analysis are merely different styles, not worse or better. I do wish Chick would post more often, but she has school and a social life, who does she think she is. (Apparently there is going to be a thing with her and Linkara soon? I AM KIND OF REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO THAT ( ... )

You should see the video of Critic quitting his old job.

It is EPIC.
