Well, three in a row, but yes :) Fandom explodes EVERY time.
The first two times he did it in canon (Adrift and Miller's Crossing) in the hopes of emotionally manipulating John and letting Rodney do something he knows John's not gonna agree with. It's a change in cadence, it's a change in emotional connection, it's another level of their relationship he's appealing to.
In Harmony, the three times in a row, he did it because he was scared and it slipped into that other level of their relationship unconsciously on Rodney's part.
I adore Martin Gero SO MUCH.
Also, I am deeply miffed that they didn't make a joke about John being the True Queen. But fandom will make up for this, I suspect.
Oh, we've already done so :) If QueenJohn (CANON) and Rodney had a daughter, her name would be Harmony.
OH AND. "People are always falling for John Sheppard". Note the lack of gender specificity.Martin's first episode of SGA was Childhood's End where Keras (by Martin's own admittance) was a little in love

Three! Ahh, my memory is faulty sometimes. And I very much agree with the difference between the other 'John's and this one--although I hadn't actually thought about it before, because I am not a terribly analytical person. But that is what the rest of the Internet is for.
*thinks back to Childhood's End* Ooooooh yeah! You know, Martin should just write every episode. Well, most of them, anyway. No more Mallozzi, plz.
Well, we've got a few more Martin or Carl eps because Mallozzi takes over the last three of the season (Kindred 1, 2, and Last Man). I've never been a fan of Mallozzi's writing. However, with the spoilers going around for Last Man, I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt because the ep sounds AWESOME.
Really? I'm not up-to-date on SGA spoilers--well, except for the Beckett one, but even then I don't know all the details for it. I think I may be better off going in clean if it's supposed to be good--that way, I don't have high expectations. As opposed to bad spoilers, wherein my low expectations are generally a little off.
I haven't seen this episode yet but MY GOD NOW I WANT TO. Hurry up Tuesday...
This season of stargate has been chock full of the john/rodney. It's making me smile ^^ (that scene in...oh I always get the episode titles confused....Millers crossing? Yeah the whole...you got a guy TO KILLHIMSELFFORME kinda kills me everytime.)
Looking behind the cut tags for an episode you haven't seen? Brave woman! Yes, this season certainly does seem to be piling on the gay, doesn't it...also, your icon makes me snrk every time I see it.
. The other options, as far as I could discern, were Dean Winchester, Peter Petrelli, Matt Saracen from Friday Night Lights, Jim Halpert from The Office, Sawyer from Lost, and House. I do not want to be Dean's girlfriend. I like living. Matt, honey, I don't really know you at all, so I really couldn't say. Sawyer, you're a dick. Jim, you're very sweet, but you've kind of got a One True Love thing going on. Peter, all your girlfriends either die or get trapped in the future, also I so do not want to get involved in your mess. House...yeah.I got Dean, which is really kind of funny, because I mainly think that he is an immature git whose ideas about women and life in general are rather questionable. I wouldn't want to get him beer, and I'd loathe that he would constantly try to protect me and tell me what to do, so I'd probably leave him at the first opportunity and chat up Ellen for some demonhunting. (Disclaimer: I know that Dean isn't really this bad. It's the old cat lover's syndrome again - he has so many fans, who love him so much

*nods* Sing it, sister. Admittedly, I'd say you were only exaggerating a little bit; I wouldn't be too terribly fond of the lad even if he wasn't so popular. I would much rather go with Ellen. If I'm going to be patronized, I want to be patronized because of my lack of experience, dammit, not because of my gender.
I don't think I love Deadwood just yet--I quite like it, yes, and I admire it for its tendency to not give a damn about the typical standards of television, but, well, my parents refer to The Sopranos as "life in hell", and I wouldn't say that's too far off the mark for Deadwood, either...dramatically brilliant or no, after a certain point you just can't stop cringing.

I'm so glad to hear that. The thought that someone like Dean Winchester is becoming the standard man to swoon after for women under 30 is frankly disturbing.

There is also the fact that Deadwood takes place in the 19th century, which was darker than the infamous middle ages in terms of gender equality and race

Oh, Dean's bad enough, but I think my chances of survival if I were dating John would be akin to those of a snowball in Hell. No, as much as I love the guy, I am glad to stay the heck away from that family. Similarly with Nathan, though without the death sentence. You won't catch me getting sucked into that vortex of drama...
On the first try, i got Jim Halpert from The Office & i had absolutely no idea whether to be insulted or not... so i took it again & got Dean Winchester from Supernatural. Having read the descs, i have to say i'd settle for a hybrid, methinks. ;P
Aw, but Jim's sweet! And he probably is a bit geeky, deep down. Whereas Dean is just kind of a messed-up asshole. I'd go for Jim over Dean any day, regardless of badassery.
And you know what the funny thing is? One of the things i changed that tipped it from Jim to Dean was TV shows from Comedies to SF Drama! i was really torn over that one! That & choosing loyalty over humor. i should really stick with the humor 'cause it's more what i like.. it's my insecurities that want loyalty in a guy, y'know?
. o O (that & i really have issues with peanut butter & jelly too ;D)
