Was that a 'John'? Was that four 'John's?

Well, three in a row, but yes :) Fandom explodes EVERY time.

The first two times he did it in canon (Adrift and Miller's Crossing) in the hopes of emotionally manipulating John and letting Rodney do something he knows John's not gonna agree with. It's a change in cadence, it's a change in emotional connection, it's another level of their relationship he's appealing to.

In Harmony, the three times in a row, he did it because he was scared and it slipped into that other level of their relationship unconsciously on Rodney's part.

I adore Martin Gero SO MUCH.

Also, I am deeply miffed that they didn't make a joke about John being the True Queen. But fandom will make up for this, I suspect.

Oh, we've already done so :) If QueenJohn (CANON) and Rodney had a daughter, her name would be Harmony.

OH AND. "People are always falling for John Sheppard". Note the lack of gender specificity.

Martin's first episode of SGA was Childhood's End where Keras (by Martin's own admittance) was a little in love with John, so he established right from the beginning that women AND men fall for Sheppard. I like that little callback :)

Three! Ahh, my memory is faulty sometimes. And I very much agree with the difference between the other 'John's and this one--although I hadn't actually thought about it before, because I am not a terribly analytical person. But that is what the rest of the Internet is for.

*thinks back to Childhood's End* Ooooooh yeah! You know, Martin should just write every episode. Well, most of them, anyway. No more Mallozzi, plz.

Well, we've got a few more Martin or Carl eps because Mallozzi takes over the last three of the season (Kindred 1, 2, and Last Man). I've never been a fan of Mallozzi's writing. However, with the spoilers going around for Last Man, I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt because the ep sounds AWESOME.

Really? I'm not up-to-date on SGA spoilers--well, except for the Beckett one, but even then I don't know all the details for it. I think I may be better off going in clean if it's supposed to be good--that way, I don't have high expectations. As opposed to bad spoilers, wherein my low expectations are generally a little off.
