The following day, Hikaru stopped thinking about everything that happened yesterday, but he did not forget the image of Inoo’s head on his hands, frustrated over what he said. The way he can’t react to the words Inoo say. When he ran away without saying anything, a little boy saying that he might be the coward than Inoo…
The image of that boy appeared in his mind again when he saw him again today, this time wearing the uniform of the middle-school department, “That’s the boy!!” he wanted to chase after the boy and talk to him again, but the boy was walking too fast. Probably he’s late in class already.
As usual, he went to the lockers to change his shoes. When he opened it, there was a piece of paper. His heart began to race again as he thought it might be Inoo. He quickly took and opened it,
Better be honest with yourself, Yaotome-senpai.^^ - Chii

His forehead creased. What is this junk? And who is this “Chii” guy? He continued to stare at the letter then someone pulled him to the classroom. He noticed it was Takaki and Daiki, and Yabu is in the classroom, happily chatting with Asuka-chan. it seems that Inoo is nowhere to be seen.
Seems like his friends set up a date with him and Asuka-chan. of course he can’t decline, the girl’s too obvious that she’s excited for this. He decided to give in, give the girl another chance. He thinks Inoo will be absent again, anyway.
A few minutes passed, and the conversation’s really fun and smooth. Hikaru began to feel like the Hikaru he was before Inoo came in his life. The Hikaru that’s popular, the Hikaru that’s being followed by girls, the Hikaru with good friends like Takaki, Yabu and Daiki, the Hikaru who’s perfect.
But, this perfection is not a gift you can have forever.
Asuka-chan laughed, he laughed too. When he stopped, he saw Inoo, with the same look as before. Angry yet sad. The memory from yesterday came to him. It now ached his brain rather than making it numb. It also ached his chest somehow. Inoo squinted his eyes at him, like this is going to be the last time he’ll see him, and ran away.
Good thing he remembered to say goodbye, and quickly ran after Inoo. He ran faster, and finally took Inoo’s wrist. It’s so pale and delicate, just like his face when he said he likes him the day before. Finally, he can feel and his brain is working, he can now talk SENSIBLY, “I’m sorry.” He said in a calm, hushed voice, “I’m sorry about that day and earlier. I never meant to hurt you like that.”
Inoo shook his wrist away, “No, I understand. I’m stupid for telling you how I feel. I know you won’t take it seriously.”
“You got it wrong! I’ve been lying to you, and to myself. You’re not stupid, I am!”
“What?”
Hikaru shook his head. It’s hard to explain things, especially when this “Chii” boy began saying wise things like an old wise guy. He hopes Inoo will understand through these words:
“I never knew that I like you too…more than a friend. It hurts me to see you hurt. It makes me feel empty whenever you’re not around. I believed everything is perfect, and you came to destroy the perfection in my life. I now have problems, I now have feelings. It’s all because of you, Kei.”
Inoo stared at him, dumbfounded. Hikaru still stood there beside him, still hoping. After a minute that seemed eternity to the two of them, Inoo’s eyes began to sparkle, but not in a good way. Tears welled on the sides, then trickled down on his pale cheeks. Hikaru felt bad, he just made Inoo cry.
Not really thinking, he took Inoo’s wrist again, and pulled him into a warm embrace, “I hope you understand, Kei.”
Inoo sniffed, then wrapped his arms around Hikaru’s body, “Hikaru.”

Hikaru and Inoo are now walking together, holding each other’s hand. Now Hikaru sees life as perfect again, as long as Inoo’s there.
They happened to pass by Asuka-chan, who said hi to Hikaru. Hikaru waved back, not really remembering their date.
Inoo looked at Asuka-chan, hugged Hikaru tightly, and sticked his tongue out, “He’s mine now. Back off.”
Hikaru and Asuka-chan both laughed.
