Moving On, Part 1: His eyes met another pair of eyes, he looked the other way, but still, he felt that pair of eyes were still locked against him
Moving On, Part 2: "Yaotome Hikaru! and Inoo Kei!"
Perfection, Part 3: The following day, the chair that Inoo sits in is empty

There he saw Inoo lying on his bed, his eyes dropping as he sees the dark circles below it. He walked inside and smiled, “Hey Kei.”

“Hey.” Inoo answered, still staring at the ceiling.

“I was wondering, Why’re you absent?”

Inoo’s voice this time became flat and hard, “Didn’t you just see me right now? I’m sick.”

“Oh, right. Sorry about that.” But in Hikaru’s mind he’s thinking that there’s still some other reason behind this sickness.

He heard a cough from the other boy, but he can point that it’s fake. He then took something out of his bag and showed it to him, “Here’s the English homework. The teacher told me to bring it to you.”

Inoo took the papers and replied in that same strong voice, “Thanks.”

Hikaru’s heart began to pump fast. There’s no conversation, and the atmosphere in the room is very tense. What is he going to do next? Will he say goodbye now? Will he ask another stupid question? Will he just said that Inoo’s faking this fever and say that he should go to school tomorrow?

“By the way, why did you decide to visit me?”

His heart pumped faster. Darn that heart! Why is he feeling like this? “Don’t you like it? Even though you’re just a new student, someone’s already concerned for you.”

Inoo’s eyes widened, “I’m just asking why you’re visiting me. Not that I don’t like you in my room right now.”

Uh-oh. It all became worse for Hikaru. He remained silent, but he’s positive that he’s cheeks are red from the blood that’s pumping everywhere since he stepped in here. He opened his mouth to say sorry, but he didn’t hear anything. He saw Inoo relaxed his face, and maybe he did say sorry.

Inoo said, “I’m sorry too. Sorry that you don’t feel welcomed here. I’m just…too happy that you came. That someone DID cared for me.”

Hikaru didn’t say anything; his brain can’t process the words just now. What the heck did Inoo say?

Inoo chuckled softly, “Would you mind if I say something…private?”

The other boy just nodded, still can’t understand anything. He could just fall down and pretended that he fainted, but he can’t resist looking away from those beautiful eyes.

Those eyes just turned more beautiful for him when Inoo finally said, “I like you.”

*********************

From those three words his brain was fixed. He widened his eyes, “Huh?”

“I like you...more than a friend.”

The additional words, unfortunately, turned his brain off. He just nodded, not changing his blank expression.

“You’re not angry?” Inoo asked, his eyebrows meeting in the center, a true example of frustration.

“Why would I be?” his mouth involuntarily said. How can that be, if his brain still can’t function properly?

Inoo sighed, sat up, and straightened his face, “To be honest, I’m not really sick. I just want to be absent today.”

I know that. “Oh. Then…?”

“Remember yesterday when you were with Asuka-chan? I know you saw me with those glaring eyes. I’m sorry for that. It’s all because I like you and the green-eyed monster emerged in me to look at you like that. Since I was a coward, I decided to skip school today. I thought you might get angry at me, that you might get the idea that I like you, and sensing that I’m jealous will…I don’t know…” Inoo shook his head and placed his hands on his face.

Hikaru can’t understand as much as Inoo is. He’s sure his brain is still not properly functioning. If it is, he might say a lot of things right now! He might be like a debater if he can only talk right now. He wanted to fix this problem, to make sure if Inoo really likes him, or if everything’s just a practical joke. His mouth and body moved again, going to the door, “I’m sorry, I think I have to go now.”

As Hikaru closed the door. Inoo lied on the bed, looking at the ceiling again. He began to feel guilty about saying those things to him. It only got worse.

-Hikaru’s POV-

I darted down the stairs and made my way out of the house. What is happening to me right now? Why is my heart pumping like this? Why does Inoo looks so adorable every time I see him? What is this stirring feeling I had when he confessed to me? I shouldn’t be acting this way, no!

I walked briskly, close to running. Why was he going to be afraid, is that because I prefer girls than boys, then why did he said he likes me? Doesn’t he know that I might get angrier because of that? If that’s the reason, why did he skipped school? He’s scared to tell that, that he wants ME to go to his house personally so that he’ll say it? He’s such…such…

“A coward?”

What the…

I looked around; no one’s there. Something tugged on my shirt and saw a cute little boy looking at me. God, he’s freaking me out with his eyes right now, “Who are you?”

He didn’t answer me, instead, he’s like reading my mind, “Why are you saying that he’s a coward if you’re one yourself? Think about it.”

What the hell is this boy talking about? “Will you cut the crap! You don’t even know me. Don’t you dare talk to me like that!”

The boy grinned, like some prank is going to happen, and it’s going to be his entire fault. Funny thing is, nothing happened. He continued to smile, waved goodbye, and skipped away.

My mind began to register the words he just said…Think about it.

“Me? A coward?” I whispered to myself.
