i got a care credit loan. depending if your surgeon accepts it or not..i'll look into that.

This. Get living expenses loans and use that. Choose a school that provides trans surgeries as part of their insurance plans, etc.

That's what I'm doing!
Sorta.

I got enough grants (saying my family is poor might be an understatement) to cover all of my school. Then I applied for and got a position as a diversity leader (like an RA but I don't have to deal with drunk people). Since it covers all of my room and board I get my grant money back.

Use the system to your advantage!

No advice, but I can totally relate. I've been at the same job for two years and every time i try to save money something horrible happens ( car got broken into, my dog got cancer) it's really frustrating. Good luck!

I have a friend on disability going to school full time on grants. I convinced him to take out the money from student loans to living expenses and use that surgery. He did and now has the money to get it down by a local doctor for $7500
