Death Therapy

Sometimes I hate myself and want to die. I can be miserable for a while until I realize that eventually I am going to die. It is only a matter of time. I can reassure myself that it will happen and that the world will go on without me. This is therapeutic for me. I feel better after I remember this. This reminds me of Stoicism... Knowing that something is going to happen and being comfortable with it instead of continually worrying about it. I consider it to be very healthy.

I'm reminded of Elegies. A song-cycle musical by William Finn, written about people he's lost, either by losing contact with, or them having died. Its a wonderful heartfelt musical, that can bring a tear to my eye.

I highly recommend that you give it a listen.
