I'm tired of this.  Justin Gatlin tested positive on his piss test.  So much for all his achievements.

I should've stopped caring when Kenteris skipped the Olympics.  That guy was my hero when he won gold for Greece in 2000.

I'm all for innocence until proven guilty. Also, I know the rules governing drug tests that can arbitrary. One athlete, if I remember correctly, was disqualified from a competition for having a chemical in his system that came from a hair regrowth pill.

With that said, I believe there should be some draconian sanctions against players who unequivocally piss hot. Only then can we begin to create an effective deterrent to doping.

There needs to be a distinction here: both Gatlin and Floyd Landis tested for high levels of testosterone. Neither of their tests have been backed up by second samples.

With that being said, professional cycling is a joke. Track and field is closely approaching it. Officiating in the World Cup was a farce. Some of Italy's top soccer teams were involved in a match-fixing scandal. Barry Bonds is about to be indicted any day now for committing perjury.

No hyperbole here: this is the death of fair play as we know it. Sports, as a whole, will be lucky to recover from this.
