Went to Mid-South Con this weekend, which was pretty damn cool. Terry Pratchett was the main author guest, so I got his autograph and heard him talk about what's coming in Discworld and about the book he's working on right now (not Discworld because he needs gunpowder and Christianity to exist in it. I went and got a haircut today, which I was desperately in need of. On the way home, I stopped in at various of the purveyors of electronic entertainment that stand along my path homeward. Been a while since I posted. The semester's over, and I believe I have survived. Likely with a B and a C, or maybe two B's, but survival none the less. Now I get to really focus on a thesis. Which means I have to figure out what I'm going to do a thesis about. Yay.

The classic civil defense logo has been officially retired and replaced by something that looks remarkably like the new DC Comics logo. Heaven forbid we should continue to use an "anachronistic" logo that is both simple and easily recognizable. I wonder how many tax dollars were wasted coming up with this new swooshy thing?
