Pantaloon Bird!
Went to Mid-South Con this weekend, which was pretty damn cool. Terry Pratchett was the main author guest, so I got his autograph and heard him talk about what's coming in Discworld and about the book he's working on right now (not Discworld because he needs gunpowder and Christianity to exist in it. Also a 'pantaloon bird' is involved somehow). He also did a reading from the Discworld novel coming in October, Making Money.
Mark Waid was the main comic book guest; I had breakfast with him which was exceptionally cool. The title of 'nicest guy in comics' is well deserved; he's a fan made good, and a lot of fun to talk with. jeffwik may be interested to learn that Mr. Waid shares his opinions on current copyright laws, Sonny Bono, and the RIAA.
