So my roomies and I just had a spontaneous RENT sing-along in the kitchen (this...um, happens often. Hey, this is Chris logged into Lillie's live journal. So... I was a directing concentration at Bennington.... and know Rent really well (I was completely obsessed with it in Jr. High and High School - I was Vs. President of my high school Rent fan club)... and have most of the sheet music... and have done stagged selections before for performance... and have seen it done professionally multiple times... and have the show memorized... my point is that I could do the directing and most of the choreography and music (I was a music "minor"). Things I can't and/or won't do: read music well enough to play anything beyond helping people find their intro notes on a piano (we'd need a tape or something, but I know pitch and tone super well, so I can tell right away if something is off key or is just out of tune), let people just pick what they want willy nilly (Rent is fun, but also a rock opera to be respected and know the history behind - a.k.a - I want to hear people sing first, mostly to make sure the part they want is going to be in ( ... )

Awesome! :D I anticipated it being difficult to find a director, so yes, awesome! I was actually really hoping that you'd be willing to help, but knowing that you have a love/hate sort of relationship with theater, wasn't sure that would happen ( ... )
