From the Beginning Previous update Okay flist.
For those of you who have been following my little project, I apologize for the delay in getting some new pics to y'all. RL has been busy and I kept forgetting to take the camera out to take some shots for you. It's turned out really nice. Sometimes it's a little bumpy and the bunny slope is still there (though it's getting smaller and smaller with each flooding.) but the boys are LOVING it. Drew, my youngest, doesn't always skate but he still enjoys coming out and playing on the rink while Owen and I skate around. Our nightly routine has changed somewhat now so that we have dinner a little earlier and then we go out and have an evening skate before bath and bedtime. It's awesome!
Last night, before I started my flooding, I took a few pics. There's also a picture here from earlier in the week which I took during the day but there's a shadow over half of it and the pic isn't great.
Here's the day time pic. You can see a few little bumps on it but they are gone now.
here's a shot of the rink at night. I ran an extension cord from the deck to the trees so I could mount a spot light up there. Next year I'll go with Christmas lights I think but the spot lights work nicely too.
Here's just a different angle
Here's another shot from this angle. I included this one cuz you can also see the rest of the back yard and the swing set we got for the boys 2 yrs ago when I left work. It was my 'retirement' present to myself... LOL. I took the accrued vacation money that was owed to me (I had 25 days vacation accrued so it was a nice little lump sum) and bought the sing set. Funny cuz one of my friends said 'Oh my God, why didn't you buy something for 'YOU' instead?" I said "I Did!"... my reasoning was that they would spends lots and lots of time playing on it and that it woiuld keep them busy... I was right. Next to it is the pool shed, and the pool is off to the left but it's in-ground so you can't really see it.
Anyway, the last shot from last night.
