*Having found out that he apparently now has a job at the library, Albedo reluctantly showed up at the start of the workday. Not even five minutes into pretending to work, he's thoroughly disgusted and on the lookout for someone to bother and either distract himself or at least make sure he's not the only one suffering.*

[Just staring at you Albedo. And smirking his ass off. He'll let YOU come to him, if you want to speak.]

I hope you're aware I'll only be present so often as the nature of this place forces me.

[After Albedo's phonecall, Theta comes up to him and snuggles against him.]

Now, don't antagonise them into taking away the toy we're having so much fun with, Darling~ [Referring to the lack of permanence to death.]

*He puts an arm around her and leans down to nuzzle the top of her head.* Any threat of true death would be far too akin to escape, given their apparent determination to keep us held here.

What would be the point to offering exclusion from the true cycle of death and rebirth if they had the intent to kill us fully anyway? Seems rather counter to keeping us held here, as well.

It could be for any number of reasons, but the one which occurs to me, is to make a point. Humans fear death, as you have noted, thus this is a powerful threat to them. All that would have to happen is a few to die and not return. It could greatly traumatize others, and make their minds more susceptible to whatever it is the place is trying to do.

*Pinging the loss button, chaos?* Sacrifice of a few to remove what comfort the remainders may have had, eh?

*You are getting a brother coming up to you. Please ignore the fact that his right hand is slightly coiled around his palm.* I thought you couldn't stand this place, Rubedo.
