Introducing Guest Editor - our new discussion forum!

This activity is the place for a volunteer to write an editorial piece centering around the processes of writing or reading.

We have the privilege of our first Guest Editor being the very talented and articulate domfangirl who is going to present her editorial on:

Lol. She's doing a separate post so that the comments will go to her. By editors posting themselves, they can keep up easier with the discussion. If I pasted it here, I'd get all the comments. But as it's a new activity, we just wanted to give people the heads up with an intro. I'm just not very good with timing!

And a beta editorial would be great! Thanks for volunteering! I'd only suggest that you wait a day or so after Candy's so we can spread out the discussion a bit.

Yeah for volunteers! I'm excited!

No, no, not stupid at all, I put an edit in there that might make it clearer bc it really wasn't.

And Sunday sounds great - no format, that would require my thinking one up and be like working or something. ;) So freestyle away!

And thanks so much for picking up that topic, I think it'll be a great discussion and be very useful! I'm looking forward to it.

What a great idea. I love this stuff. I enjoyed reading Candy's.

Can I offer up my services?

Absolutely! I'm thrilled you'd offer!

And we already have someone in queue for next week - so if you'd like to do the week after, would that be cool? Any topic in mind or still considering?

I'll offer you an additional spot - would you consider leading a critique discussion, too? I'd like to try that activity again, but I think it can only work if there's someone who would lead the critique and generate questions and more discussion. I was planning to post for volunteers today, but I thought I'd bug you first as I've "got you on the phone" so to speak and as I know you could be very insightful and knowledgable and yet kind. No pressure tho - the Guest Editor #3 slot is still yours!

Hey, that sounds great. I'd love to try it out. I emailed you about the topics I'd like for the editorial spot at the fox river mod addy. Why don't you email me know about the critique discussion too? I'd be happy to help out!
The week after next works great with my schedule too. So I have lots of time to think about it. :)
Thanks!

I was wondering whether this topic is already taken:
“A Writer's Plea - the Five Things Writers Want to Know From Their Readers About Their Fics”.
Otherwise, I'd be delighted to make myself busy with writing it :)

No one has claimed that yet, and I'd love to have to do it. We've got guest editors lined up for the next two weeks. Could you do it the week of Oct. 14th? I think it's a really interesting topic and I hope it generates some great discussion. Thanks for volunteering!!

You are most welcome. I'll have it ready for the due date. Should I send it to you via e-mail, or simply post it here?

You will probably just want to go ahead and post it yourself - just make sure you label it as Guest Editorial or somesuch - that way, when ppl respond, you'll get the comment notification. It makes it easier to follow the discussions. But if you would feel more comfortable having me make an "intro" post saying you're going to be the next editor, that's perfectly cool, jlmk. Thanks again!

Hey, Col, I had so much fun with this whole editorial thing I wondered if I could do it again at some point? I realize you've got several weeks worth of vols now, but if no one ever does the POV one, I'd love to take a crack at it.

It can be a long time from now, that's fine! :D
