Introducing Guest Editor - our new discussion forum!

This activity is the place for a volunteer to write an editorial piece centering around the processes of writing or reading.

We have the privilege of our first Guest Editor being the very talented and articulate domfangirl who is going to present her editorial on:

Lol. She's doing a separate post so that the comments will go to her. By editors posting themselves, they can keep up easier with the discussion. If I pasted it here, I'd get all the comments. But as it's a new activity, we just wanted to give people the heads up with an intro. I'm just not very good with timing!

And a beta editorial would be great! Thanks for volunteering! I'd only suggest that you wait a day or so after Candy's so we can spread out the discussion a bit.

Yeah for volunteers! I'm excited!

No, no, not stupid at all, I put an edit in there that might make it clearer bc it really wasn't.

And Sunday sounds great - no format, that would require my thinking one up and be like working or something. ;) So freestyle away!

And thanks so much for picking up that topic, I think it'll be a great discussion and be very useful! I'm looking forward to it.

That sounds perfectly acceptable!

The editorial is about the process of writing and confining that to *only* PB people would not benefit the PB ppl, I'd think. And that's what we're trying to do, so your idea fits with that objective perfectly.

Working with an editor/beta really doesn't have so much to do with *what* you're writing as with *how* and I think people who work as or with editors in other fandoms or RL or with non-fiction could have great input, too! More ideas, I think is always better and it sounds like you've got a great idea to generate them.

I think for a lot of our discussions here, other people from other fandoms *could* have a lot to say. Aside from those directed towards specific character analysis or episodes, the writing and reading process is cross-fandimensional. I just made that word up. Like it?

Feel free to post away! I think we've established the guest editor activity well enough, but I can do an "official" intro post if you prefer. So long as it's labeled as guest editor I think that's good enough - so have fun!!
