A hodge podge of what's in my life and head at the moment. . .

Work has blocked almost every social/fun website possible, including LJ and Facebook. Goodreads is still available and for some strange reason I still have access to a certain Great MAIL service. This is bothering me much more than it should given that it is their network afterall ( Read more... )

When father papered the parlour,
You couldn't see Pa for paste!
Dabbing it here and dabbing it there,
Paste and paper everywhere!
Granny was stuck to the ceiling,
The kids were stuck to the floor.
I never saw such a blooming family
so stuck up before!

As it happens, there was an article in today's paper about the scorge of on-line porn in the workplace (tension and liability concerns abound, since cell phones can't be monitored although they're "on the the premises," yadda-yadda-yadda), so the fact that time-suckers such as LJ & Facebook are sanctioned impresses me as being peculiarly stupid.

That said, work is work and one's social life is not work.

Glad school's doing well for you, though.

Yeah, it's just all bit weird at the company now. Oh well, that's why I've gone back to school - options are my friend. ;)

Hmm. I am wondering if ChoreWars might help ease my friends stress over nobody else doing the washing up in her shared house!! Might have to send her that.

I'm sorry about the sucky bits but I'm glad school is fun. You need fun.

In complete agreement that the current market environment sucks - can we please just fast forward to 2009 and the recovery already? Glad that school is going so well - it sounds like lots of fun. :)

one good thing about the sucky market is that it means I *can* walk out the door at 5pm and only have a handful of messages on my voicemail the next day. If this were 4Q last year. . .yeah, best not think about that.
