I find baking so relaxing. It's been a stressful week at work, and I may or may not have gone a little overboard this weekend attempting to "relax".

...I'm not sure how my boyfriend and I are going to eat five dozen cookies, but I guess we'll just have to manage.

So I made strawberry scones.

This recipe was from the June/July 2005 issue of Cook's Country magazine. The only scones I've had until these were dry, bland, and less than exciting. But these are like heaven. Light, lovely, sweet and delicious. I think the heavy cream in the dough makes all the difference. Mmmm...heavy cream.

I love Caramel Sauce poured over good cold ice cream. Few things match the simplicity of this dessert. I couldn't quite remember my ex-step-mother's recipe for the sauce, but pulled this out of my head ( Read more... )
