Yes ... I have, just a short while ago. I mentioned it in my LJ at the time. It IS heavenly and very expensive but oh so worth it. :)

I make my own brie. What is that truffle layer? A cream cheese mixed with truffles

I think I read a description on one web site which said mascarpone with truffles ... either white or black. You couldn't really tell that it had been cut open from the outside/rind section of the brie though so it must have been done when the brie was newly made. The cheesemonger described it as 'truffle butter' when I bought it.

Mascarpone is easy to make as well. Interesting maybe when I want to spoil my husband I'll give it a try.
