Yes the chicken was done in the dutch oven. I have a cast iron trivet for the bottom to keep it raised a little. I put the right and left burners on high, with the center ones on low. I had the temperature between 350 and 400 and just let it cook for 2 hours.
You can use any roast chicken recipe you like.
I have done this with camp fire embers and charcoal. The longer you let it cook the more it falls off the bone and is soooo juicy.
sarah_y gets the credit for those. I have done them before but always in a pan, never just on the grill. They worked out really well and nothing caught on fire.
