squash blossom erotica

I made these, arranged them artfully on a sage green sushi plate, turned on strategic lights - and realized my camera is locked in a closet at work in preparation for a field trip tomorrow. But...

I'm growing some squash plants that inexplicably keep making male flowers without any female ones to pollinate. Clearly I have no choice but to eat ( Read more... )

oooo!!! I made some last week!!!

After watching Food TV's Giada goes to Paradise, I decided to use up some of my squash blossoms.

Just as an aside, most squash varieties do put out male flowers first; female flowers form farther down the vines, so the plant has to wait to grow the vines to produce the female flowers. :)

I know about that, it's just that by mid-July my plants usually manage to have some female flowers. But I like the flowers somewhat better than the squash, anyway.
