My mom sent me this. Don't know if it's true, but the essence of it rings true. I include it in it's entirety. It is not exactly how I would explain it all, but I think it is very illustrative of the problem and a creative solution that at least sheds light on the situation:

latest achievements
So we are doing a lot of this SCA medieval re-enactment stuff that my sister and brother-in-law have been involved with for so many years.
My oldest (who just turned 15!!! last week) has qualified for Youth Chivalric Combat (his first tournament)

something to cheer fore
my oldest son (almost 15) wrote a poem for an English class, and of all the poems across the country submitted this year, his was one of 10 chosen for his grade level and will be published in an annual anthology. !!!! Way to Go Kiddo!!!!

Writer's Block: Confessions of a couch potato
Well, if DVD's count, one New Year's Day my kids and I watched the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy (extended version) and all of the extra 'making of' discs too. Yeah, it literally took all day.
