There's normally meat in lasgana? Weird. Anyway, you defintely have grasped the key point to good lasgana -use real cheeses, not ricotta. All the rest is commentary, as far as I am concerned. As a matter of personal taste I prefer the mexican soy meat to the regular for almost every purpose but I am spice guy, so that isn't surprising.

Just to clarify, as an observant Jew I don't have meat and milk products together, even in the same meal, much less the same dish. So I could eat either meat lasgna with no cheese or cheese lasagna with no meat. I don't think I'd call the former lasgna, personally.

I got a meatless lasagna recipe from Allrecipes.com a few years back and I absolutely adore it. And this is coming from a true meat-lover. It's now become one of the meals I create when I'm looking to impress.

Hey :-)

Your lasagne looks divine, I will make it and enjoy :-) I also make a meatless lasagne with TVP, but make a more chilli like meat sauce, that is I put in kidney beans for extra protein; mushrooms and the other usual spaghetti bolognaise ingredients, then I use this for my lasagne. I also just use a mix of cheddar type cheese and mozzerella; I also use a store bought bechemel sauce, it works well, and helps keep hungry teenagers happy :-) Next time I make it I will post the recipe and pics to go with!

Thanks for sharing your recipe and pics!

Kind Regards,
Sacred Harlot.
