Next topic.

Death as not an inevitable end, but rather a continuation of an altered state of being and/or a beginning of a new chapter of existence.

Discuss?

That's an awfully deep subject.

I feel that it is relevant to our situation.

Considering the circumstances?

...

It'd be nice to think that something happens after we die. I am a priest, I should believe in heaven after all.

But may I play devils advocate?

What exactly do you mean, Pardner?

What happens when you die?

Not the physical. Hair falls out, flesh rots. Bloating. Eventual breakdown.

The mental.

That's not a very nice picture to paint.

Death is part of a cycle.

When a human dies, they enter the Netherworld--or not, as it may be the case. Some are afraid we will destroy them, and wander the world as ghosts weighed down with memories and unable to be reincarnated. But we cannot help those that do not want us to.

Some depart the Netherworld immediately, others linger on. The process of enlightenment does not have a set time, and is different for each ghost.

When a soul rises above their mortal memories, they cross the Sanzu River for judgment--and from there, they are reincarnated into their next life.

The thought is more comforting than not.

It is how things are. Life would not exist without death.

Laws are laws because they apply everywhere.

I thought death would be like sleeping, before coming here.

[she sounds a little unsure, but this is one topic she doesn't mind elaborating on]

That's not uncommon. We put the familiar onto things we can't know.

Sleep is nice.

Refusing to answer.

I believe it isn't a refusal, but rather that I am not quite certain how to.

[ Since, ha ha... Yeah. Dead is pretty much what awaits him. He doesn't want an afterlife. ]

"I don't know", that's an answer in it's own right.
