Headed out today for a bit of a ride. I was planning longer, but Denali was go-go-go for the first three miles and I was worried she had worn herself out. HA. Not quite. She tried to buck me off at the 7 mile mark. And did a rear/spin just after 4 miles because a piece of wood was GOING TO GET HER ( Read more... )

i love how both you and Marie post these awesome trail maps that you do. it's nice for me to see details of your rides.

and yes, we are good at under-estimating our ponies sometimes.

I might be responsible for Marie doing those maps, but I think it's a GREAT app and I love checking out my past rides when planning out future ones :)

yeah, the horses typically surprise us. I've no doubt that if I asked Denali to go out onto the trails today she'd tell me to f-off though ;) a gal needs her rest!

come out and ride any time :D

(but yeah, I admit to being distracted by the views at times and I see them ALL the time. and the 'best' view is the mountain side I'm riding on! can't even see that one.)

me too! biggest issue is the weather, but as long as I can either start early in the morning OR find a cooler day (it was semi-overcast yesterday = win), it makes it a lot easier. Still, Denali was entirely sweat covered by the first 1/2 hour. Just that warm :P

exactly! I've always been one to sleep in (we'll ignore the years I woke up at 3 or 4am for work, I was just insane then) when I can, but since I sometimes don't SLEEP until 2 or 3am, waking up at 6 or 7am to go riding in the summer is rather painful :P

however, this later work schedule (1pm to 9:30pm) is REALLY nice since I can do a LOT of riding/gym/studying/whatever in the morning hours before getting to work. The key is just timing out my energy/sleep/etc properly.

and not giving into the 'snooze just 10 more minutes.....'
