well.. this past thursday, I finally got a diagnosis for the incessant pain in my right thumb/palm area that's also affecting my left hand but not as severely fortunately

I also have tenosynivitis in my tendons; was diagnosed about 10 years ago now. Ice and ace bandages are useful. But most of the time, I end up having to take a steroid course to stop the flaring. Good luck.
The oral course was enough. And tenosynivitis is definitely related to your JRA; my rheumies have always just considered it another part of my JRA.
Prepare to treat it like a chronic disorder, though.. because in my experience, it goes through cycles, just like JRA. Most of the time, it's fine; but sometimes it really flares and you're right about it being unbelievably painful.
