Summary: You’ll never know who you’re falling in love with.
[2] When Sunggyu had told him that Cap will protect him whenever he’s not around, it seemed like Cap was really devoting his life to protect Woohyun.
The handsome male basically followed him everywhere, and repeat that, everywhere, he went. Woohyun told Cap that it’s okay, that he didn’t have to do it for Sunggyu’s sake, but it seemed like he wouldn’t take orders from him, only from Sunggyu. He sighed in defeat and just let himself be attached by the quiet male. Even when Woohyun’s taking a bath, Cap would loyally wait in front of his room, and it reminded him of the standing L in front of Sungyeol’s room whenever he was taking a shower.
So this is what it feels like to have a bodyguard...
Woohyun’s really not used to it. Even when Sunggyu came home and kissed him hungrily, lip locking and pinning Woohyun down on the bed, he knew that Cap was outside their room, waiting, protecting, listening, well maybe he wasn’t, the male was too cold to care about those kinds of things, but still, it didn’t make him comfortable.
It’s been a month since Woohyun voluntarily became Sunggyu’s lover, and day by day, he seemed to be getting back to his usual self. If at first he was laughing shyly and not really talking to everyone, now it was completely the opposite. Woohyun’s shy side started to vanish and his real personality showed up. He was starting to laugh loudly-where did that shy Woohyun go? Did another mafia kidnap him?, Sungjong muttered to Sungyeol, who exchanged glances warily at each other the moment they heard the laugh. And turned out Woohyun’s a really talkative person. He talked a lot, he teased a lot, he was really different than the Woohyun Sungyeol first knew. Was it even the same person with the one who was tied and trembled in fear in Sunggyu’s room?
Sungyeol sometimes wondered if Woohyun had double personality.
But frankly, it was because Woohyun had become used to their presence-the people he considered as family. He missed his real family, he missed talking with his father, and he felt sad whenever he heard Sunggyu was talking to his father on the phone, even though they’re not really that close, but at least...at least his father didn’t sell him to a mafia family. What surprised him even more, was that everytime Woohyun felt sad of that, Sunggyu would know, he would always know and he would do things to make him forget the sadness.
Nam Woohyun loved Kim Sunggyu too damn much.
He loved his new friends-family, but at one point, he also missed his school friends. Woohyun missed his best friend, his lab friends, his assignments, even though it’s not normal for a person to miss doing homeworks, and most of all, he missed his university. He hadn’t contacted them like, a month, and his friend probably had looked for him to his house.
So when Sunggyu told him that he had taken care of the administration and that Woohyun was allowed to go back to school-he couldn’t stop screaming gratefully to his boyfriend, he glomped on the older male, non stop kissing him, and Sunggyu thought Sungyeol was probably right-Woohyun suffered a personality disorder, he’s way too different than the Woohyun he knew a month ago, but he couldn’t help but feeling happy at that. Because he knew Woohyun was just being himself.
Woohyun had a new family, a loving and protective boyfriend, and he’s going back to school.
There’s nothing more he could ask for.
***
“Cap?”
Cap stopped chewing his gum and looked at Woohyun quietly.
“Could you be like...ten feet away from me?”
Cap grimly stared at him and Woohyun laughed awkwardly.
“I just don’t want you to scare my friends,” he muttered and observed Cap for a while. The latter was wearing a black blazer with a white loose tank top. On second thought, he’s not gonna scare his friends. Cap’s definitely gonna make his friends-and other people at his school-dropped their jaw. “Yeah, well, I guess it’s okay... I mean, it’s just school...”
Cap intentionally showed his double edged swords behind his blazer and Woohyun shuddered. He didn’t understand what Cap meant, but it seemed scary. Probably something like ‘if someone disturbs you I’ll take care of them all.’
“Don’t show those to anyone,” Woohyun shook his head in disagreement. “Oh. But we’re not going to use the car, we’ll walk. Okay? Walking is good, it’ll make you healthy. So let’s go!”
Without waiting for any reply, Woohyun turned around and started to walk. He heard slow and quiet footsteps behind, telling him that Cap was following. Woohyun slower his pace and waited for the other male to walk beside him, but he never came. He frowned and looked back.
“Walk beside me,” he said.
Cap stared at him blankly. “I’m your bodyguard, I should walk behind you.”
“And let you stare at my ass all day? Oh no, that ain’t happening. Walk beside me.”
Cap blinked. ...he’s even more confident now.
“It’s an order,” Woohyun laughed and dragged Cap to his side. “I don’t really like all the bodyguards thing. You’re my friend, alright?”
Friend?
“So as your friend, I want to ask you if you have a boyfriend.”
“...”
“I’ll take that as a no,” Woohyun brought a finger to his chin. “Such a shame, you’re such a handsome man. Hey! Let me introduce you to my friends! Well, if you’re interested at someone just tell me right away, okay? Let me introduce you to him-or her?-and hopefully you’ll hit it off and-“
Woohyun rambled all the way until they arrived at the university, but it was useless to make the male said a word, Cap just remained silent, and he didn’t even glance around. Well he did, but it was more like observing the people who walked to Woohyun, asking how he was doing, as if to gauge were they a threat or not. His hand was at his sword all the time and Woohyun repeatedly glanced at him to make sure he’s not gonna hurt anyone.
“WOOHYUNIE!!”
Someone had screamed on the top of his lung and it made both Cap and Woohyun turned their heads. Woohyun beamed happily.
“Chanhee!!”
This is the first time Cap saw Woohyun looked so terribly happy seeing someone beside his master.
The person who was called Chanhee raced to Woohyun and jumped at him in happiness.
“Woohyunie, where the hell have you been? You made me so worried! I came to your house but it was empty, your phone was unreachable, and I miss you, and my science project was a huge fail since you didn’t show up that day, and I was angry at you, but I miss you, and...”, Chanhee stared at Woohyun tearily. “Oh God, I’m glad to know that you’re alright.”
“I’m sorry, Chanhee,” Woohyun hugged him tight in regret and sighed. “A lot of things had happened. But I’m here now. I’m okay. I’m sorry for making you worried.”
Chanhee patted Woohyun’s back and nodded slowly. “Is everything alright?”
Woohyun only smiled awkwardly.
“Well, you need to tell me later about that, promise? Shall we head to our usual place after class?”
Both of them walked together to their class with Woohyun’s arm wrapped around Chanhee’s shoulder. Just as they were about the enter the building, Chanhee cleared his throat.
“Is it just my imagination or someone handsome behind me was following us with two swords?”
“Let’s ignore the handsome guy,” Woohyun replied. “You have a boyfriend, Chanhee.”
***
Woohyun forbid Cap to enter the class with a very menacing glare. Cap got himself wondered what made Sunggyu fell in love with the male. He was beautiful, Cap admitted, but he was also scary. So he waited patiently until his classes were done under the tree.
He was hugged a lot by his friends-and by most of the girls who whispered to him, asking about the hot guy who’s been walking behind Woohyun. The latter only grinned secretively and they all wailed in disappointment. Chanhee only rolled his eyes.
“So how’s Boohyun?”
Woohyun stunned at the question.
“So if you don’t live there anymore, where do you live now?”
He looked down and visibly biting his lip. Woohyun didn’t know what to answer. It’s not Chanhee’s fault in the first place, he was his best friend, and he’s been missing for a month, so it was normal for him to ask. But how was Woohyun supposed to answer? He felt a pang in his heart.
“Um...”, Woohyun said hesitantly.
Chanhee tilted his head to a side, waiting. “Hm?”
“I...I should go home soon. He’s-he’s waiting for me.”
“He...who?”
“Cap,” Woohyun pointed at Cap from afar. Though he actually meant his boyfriend.
“Cap?”, Chanhee followed his gaze. “But...we promised to go to the usual place after this.”
“Rain check? I’ll make it up to you next time, I promise.”
“Well...okay, then...”
Woohyun forced a smile and they both fell into an uncomfortable silence. His eyes were on the ground, and Chanhee’s gaze was all over him, noticing something was off. Woohyun then waved Chanhee goodbye and started walking away when the latter spoke.
“Woohyunnie?”
“Yes?”, Woohyun breathed.
“You know you can count on me, right?” Chanhee said. “I will never, ever judge you.”
Woohyun’s expression softened at his best friend. “...I know. And I’m grateful for that.”
Chanhee smiled. “Good.”
“...so, I’ll see you around?”
Chanhee nodded and waved. “See you around.”
***
Sunggyu came home from the club that night and found Cap was standing in front of the bedroom. He was a little surprised to see Cap with a grim look-not that he always put on a happy face, but this time it was different. “Cap. Is everything okay?”
Cap only stared and bowed deeply to him.
Sunggyu immediately knew something was wrong. “Have you eaten? Go eat something with Dongwoo.”
The heir of the Kim family entered the room and he saw Woohyun curled to a ball with a box of tissues beside him. He sighed inwardly and closed the door before walking closer to his boyfriend. Sunggyu carefully placed a kiss on Woohyun’s exposed shoulder from behind and the latter flinched.
“Gyu?”, Woohyun’s voice croaked. “You’re home early.”
Sunggyu had a feeling that Woohyun was crying, so he came home earlier. It was his first day going back to school, after all, and he had predicted that there would be questions, and one would revive the sensitive question-the one that Woohyun’s been trying to bury, and the one that Sunggyu’s been trying to erase. He laid beside Woohyun and stared deeply at the black haired male.
Woohyun sniffed to another tissue. “Gyu...can I ask you something?”
“Anything.”
“Why...did you even agree to accept me in the first place?”
Sunggyu’s expression hardened. Woohyun failed to notice it.
“Why did you even...want to trade me for my parent’s debt...”
Woohyun looked like he’s in pain when he said that and Sunggyu wiped his tears away with a thumb.
“Do you remember when you told me that I’m the first man?”
Sunggyu said it casually and Woohyun blushed. “U-um, yeah...”
“You’re also the first person I’ve fallen in love with.”
He brought his hands to Woohyun’s face and wiped the tears away completely, before leaning forward and claimed the other’s lips in a passionate kiss. Woohyun felt like he was melting inside and he held on tight to Sunggyu.
“I don’t need a reason.”
Sunggyu let Woohyun cuddled closer to his chest, until the latter fell asleep, until he forgot everything. He didn’t even change his clothes as he too, drifted to sleep, and faint steps were heard outside, and Sunggyu knew Cap was already back.
***
It’s been a while since Woohyun was coming back to school. Chanhee had also gotten used to the fact that Cap was like a ghost around them, he’s near but it felt like he’s not there. Or he may not be there but both of them were spooked by the deadly aura. He’s truly an assassin. Chanhee had stopped asking who Cap was, even though he didn’t seem satisfied with the answers. Woohyun had also told him about his other friends-Sungyeol, who’s dating L, Hoya who’s dating Dongwoo, Sungjong who’s finally admitted that he’s dating Jaehyo, and lastly, Sunggyu. He made sure not to mention the family name to Chanhee.
They were walking home like usual-Woohyun had refused to use the luxurious car and the driver, he preferred walking and Cap didn’t seem to mind-and all of a sudden, the feeling of homesick filled him. He changed the route instinctively and it seemed like his feet were dragging himself to his house.
“We should go home,” Cap quietly said.
“I know, but can we just-“, Woohyun stopped. How long has it been? A month or two? Why couldn’t he let go already? “Five minutes-max? I’m not gonna go inside, I’m just... Let’s just...”
Cap sighed in defeat. “Five minutes, max.” He followed Woohyun to the direction of his house.
Woohyun held his breath as they were getting closer and closer. The house was deserted and the front yard was even worse. It still looked nice, but Woohyun could feel the house was lifeless, it was empty. He felt tears were threatening to fall and quickly looked away. Why did he even bother to come here anymore?
“Let’s go,” he painfully whispered to Cap. “Let’s go.”
“Woohyun-hyung?”
Woohyun looked up and a really skinny male stared at him wide eyed, and he gasped.
“Niel?”
“Hyung! It is you!”
Niel glomped at Woohyun suddenly, and it made him stumbled backwards with a yelp. Woohyun was slammed on the ground with Niel on top on him, almost choking because Niel hugged him too tightly. It was actually a rather bad position because Cap might think of Niel as a threat-wait, Cap? Where’s Cap?
“Hyung! I miss you a lot!”
Woohyun winced in pain and managed to get Niel off his face, and he sat up, still with Niel on his lap, glaring at the curly haired male. Hey, shouldn’t you be helping me or something?
Cap stayed still on his track with a blank stare. His hands were by his side, they weren’t on his swords, and he didn’t look cautious like he usually did.
“Hyung?”, Niel looked over his shoulder and glanced at Cap, and the latter quickly looked away.
Woohyun blinked. Cap never looked away.
“Hyung, what happened? Where did Auntie and Uncle go? And Boohyun-hyung?”
It snapped him back to reality and forgot about Cap right away. “Are you here by yourself, Niel?”
“I’ve been looking all over for you Hyung, for the past few weeks, but the house was always empty. Where have you been?”
Woohyun was irritated. “You should’ve known about that when they were going back from your house.”
“My house?”, Neil looked confused. “What do you mean, Hyung?”
“They never came back,” Woohyun said rather angrily and stood up. “Ever since they went to your house to see Kwon-hyung’s newborn baby, they never came back!” He felt like bursting out. “And I’ve been left alone ever since! So why the fuck do you give a damn about me?”
Niel was shocked at the harsh word. “B-but Hyung,” he stuttered. “Auntie and Uncle-they-they never came to our house.”
Woohyun fell silent. “They what?”
“They never came to our house.”
“Then they must’ve used that fucking reason to leave me here all alone.”
“Non sense, Hyung! Why would they do that?”
“Because they have a huge debt to Kim Sunggyu and they decided to sell me as the payment,” Woohyun said coldly and Niel covered his mouth in surprise.
“K-Kim Sunggyu? The-the gangster?”
“Go home, Daniel.”
“So a-are you a slave?”
“No. I'm his lover.”
“It-it can’t be...”, Niel whispered in disbelief. His cousin, who he adored the most. His Hyung who he always looked up to. Suddenly he’s in a relationship with a scary gangster? “It’s not too late to run away, Hyung. Let me take you to our home and you’ll be safe.”
“I told you to go home, Daniel.”
“But...”
“My place is with Gyu now. I belong with him.”
Woohyun gave Niel a cold stare.
“Don’t think of me as a cousin anymore.”
“Hyung!”
Woohyun turned around and he ignored Niel, he ignored him calling, as he ran to get away from the house as far as he could.
The house brought him back painful memories, and with Niel showing up, it was all just too much.
Woohyun heard footsteps behind him. He stopped running and turned around. He held up his hand and glared at Cap. “Don’t follow me. I don’t fucking care if you don’t take orders from me, but just this time, don’t. Follow. Me.” Cap only raised his eyebrows as an answer and after giving Cap another warning glare, Woohyun quickly walked away.
Gyu.
He wanted to see Gyu. No, he needed to see him. But it’s such a confusion. Why did he keep on looking for Sunggyu? Woohyun had no idea.
Maybe because he’s...your boyfriend. Or maybe because he’s the only person...who would understand your pain.
He grabbed his phone and stopped at an intersection. Woohyun stared at it for a while before speed dialing a number. He waited before Sunggyu picked up. The moment Sunggyu said hello, Woohyun almost burst out crying.
“...Gyu?”
“Woohyun? Are you crying?”
Dammit. Always the best mind-reader. Woohyun pressed a hand on his mouth, trying to do his best not to let the tears fall. “...almost,” he whispered audibly.
“Is everything okay?”
“Can I-can I just see you? Now?”
“Sure. I’m at the club. Where are you now?”
“N-not too far away. I’ll call you again when I arrive, is it alright?”
“Cap will give you access to the club. You can just walk inside.”
Woohyun smacked his head. Cap. “Sure... W-well then I’ll see you later.”
He hung up and sighed. He couldn’t just possibly tell Sunggyu that he sent Cap away-and the cold male just obeyed. Woohyun walked slowly, clouds of thoughts were filling his head. Niel looked tired and miserable. He couldn’t blame him, despite the age gap, Woohyun was really close with Niel compared to his other cousins. They contacted each other regularly, and when Niel knew Woohyun couldn’t make it to his house, he was so disappointed and refused to talk to him.
But...
If his parents didn’t make it to Niel’s house, where did they go? Were they planning to leave Woohyun since the first time? That it was just an excuse to go to Niel’s house? But...Woohyun was the one who refused to come along. He had tons of assignments and he was pretty busy at that time. What if...what if, he had decided to come along with them? Will things be different?
Woohyun also remembered when his mother bought baby towels and clothes for the newborn child. She...seemed too happy for a mother who’s about to leave her son to the hand of a mafia.
He bumped on someone and quickly snapped back from all his thoughts. “I’m-I’m sorry-Dongwoo?”
Dongwoo was standing in front of him with his usual blank expression. Woohyun had already arrived at the club. He shook his head and tried to smile casually. Dongwoo nodded and he glanced around, it seemed like he was searching for a certain person-bodyguard, perhaps. Woohyun only gulped.
“Is Gyu inside?”
“...yes. Let me escort you.”
***
The club hadn’t opened yet and there were only a bartender and several waitress working inside. Woohyun was lead to Sunggyu’s room on the second floor. Dongwoo bowed slightly before leaving him.
Woohyun took a deep breath before knocking.
“Come in.”
He slowly opened the door and walked inside. Woohyun looked around in awe. The interior and the design of the room was nice, just like at home. Woohyun stared at Sunggyu who was standing by the window, gazing out. And that feeling resurfaced again. His chest tightened and he felt like crying any minute.
“I see that Cap’s not with you,” Sunggyu quietly said and turned to Woohyun.
“It’s-it’s not his fault, Gyu...”
Sunggyu said nothing and stretched a hand to Woohyun. The latter accepted it and he was pulled into a hug. Sunggyu inhaled the scent of Woohyun’s hair. He stroke the hair gently, calming him down.
“I...”, Woohyun whispered. “I...met...my cousin today. At my old house. And it’s...it’s just kind of remind me of...everything...”
Sunggyu felt Woohyun flinched in his arms.
“Gyu...make me forget...”
Woohyun pulled away and stared into Sunggyu’s eyes.
“Please...make me forget...”
Woohyun softly dragged Sunggyu to the nearest couch and he pushed the older male on it. Sunggyu then felt Woohyun’s lips against his, kissing him shyly. Woohyun guided one of Sunggyu’s hand to his thigh, and he softly moaned when Sunggyu’s hand brushed lightly against his groin. The kiss became more intimate after that, but Sunggyu could feel that right now, Woohyun was feeling hurt and torn apart. Instead of feeling turned on by Woohyun’s sudden aggressiveness, he felt like he should comfort him instead of taking advantage.
When Woohyun started to unbutton Sunggyu’s shirt, he was stopped, a hand was holding his wrist firmly, and the former stunned.
“Y-you don’t like it?”, Woohyun whispered in fear.
Sunggyu was still holding Woohyun’s wrist and he looked at him. “I’ll make love to you,” he stated. “But I don’t want you to forget.”
It suddenly triggered Woohyun’s anger. He pulled away roughly and stared at Sunggyu in disbelief. “But I don’t want to remember! It...it brought so many painful memories! I just want to forget! You, of all people should understand that!”
“And then what?”, Sunggyu also stood up, but his tone was calm. “And then after I make you forget, then what, Woohyun? There will always, always be other things, other people who show up in your life and make you remember again. You have to start learning to accept the fact, Woohyun.”
“The fact of what? That I was sold to a mafia in exchange for paying a debt?”, Woohyun shouted angrily. “That I was left by my parents-abandoned by my family?”
“As much as it hurts, yes.”
“Fuck you, Gyu!”, this time, Woohyun couldn’t hold the tears anymore. Deep down inside, he also felt guilty for cursing Sunggyu. He knew that Sunggyu’s condition was not any different than his-his mother died giving birth to him, and his father remarried another woman and left him because it was too painful to look at him. Sunggyu was also abandoned by his parents. They gave him money, they gave him facilities, everything, but it still didn’t change the fact that he-they-was abandoned.
Sunggyu saw Woohyun sobbed helplessly and it pained him. “...your parents love you.”
“Don’t,” Woohyun shook his head. “Don’t do that.”
“It’s true.”
“If they did, they wouldn’t’ve done this.”
If only you know the truth, Sunggyu thought painfully. He let Woohyun cried for a little longer, and when the latter’s tears were starting to stop, he turned around and headed for the door.
“Gyu...”
Sunggyu stopped but he didn’t look back.
“Why? You don’t want me to forget...”
“Because memories are part of your life,” Sunggyu looked over his shoulder. “And because no matter how painful it was, it got us to meet.”
Woohyun’s eyes widened, he didn’t expect that kind of answer. Sunggyu opened the door and before walking out, he spoke,
“When you’re done, we’re going home.”
***
Woohyun fell asleep after crying his heart out. He didn’t know for how long he’s been sleeping, but when he woke up, he was in Sunggyu’s arms, bridal style, heading for the car and the club was already crowded. Woohyun stirred slightly and he touched Sunggyu’s arm sleepily, mumbling, “I’m sorry, Gyu...”
Sunggyu said nothing but to kiss him softly on his forehead.
Dongwoo was standing by the luxurious limousine. L was also there, but Cap was still nowhere in sight. The driver opened the door and they were about to get in when Woohyun heard a familiar voice.
“Hyung!”
Woohyun looked back. “Niel?”
“Hyung!”, Niel looked around in fear, especially at Dongwoo and L. “Hyung...where are you going?”
“Niel, I told you to go home already,” Woohyun said in a trembling voice.
“Hyung...come with me,” Niel said desperately. “I-we’d be more than happy if you live with us. Please. You don’t have to live with...him,” his eyes went to Sunggyu as he spoke. “Please...Hyung. We’re family, right?”
“We are,” Woohyun said. “But I can’t, Niel... I’m... I’m happy. You don’t have to worry.”
“You’re...happy?”, Niel looked shocked and turned to Sunggyu. “What...have you done to him?”
“Nothing,” Sunggyu replied calmly.
“Please let him go. I’m begging you, please let him go.”
“I will,” Sunggyu fished his hands to his coat. “If it’s his choice.”
Niel slowly pulled out a knife from his bag and Woohyun’s eyes widened. “Please...”
“Oh, you’re willing to kill me?”, Sunggyu raised his brows. “How challenging. But you know, if you keep on stepping forward like that, L here won’t hesitate to hurt you, you know that?”
“I don’t care. I just want...my Hyung back...”
L’s hand was already at his katana. Dongwoo stared at all of them lazily, his gun won’t do at this moment. L alone would be enough.
“Niel, stop,” Woohyun begged. “Stop! Just go home already.”
“Then go home with me, Hyung.”
“I can’t!!”, Woohyun shouted in frustration. “L, please don’t!”
“Anyone tries to harm my master is an enemy of mine,” L coldly replied.
Niel stepped even closer to them and L took out his katana in a second.
“NO PLEASE DON’T HURT HIM!!”, Woohyun screamed.
The sound of blades clashed was heard loudly in the middle of the night, and Woohyun almost fainted. He closed his eyes in fear and waited. No other sound was heard-not even a body thud, or the sound L made everytime he sheathed his katana back. Woohyun slowly opened his eyes.
Niel was still alive.
“You,” L breathed. “Him?”
Woohyun put a hand on his chest and couldn’t be more relieved.
It was Cap. Cap had defended Niel. He used both of his swords to prevent L’s katana from hurting Niel. The boy was still standing, with a knife on his hand, and Cap was kneeling in front of him, protecting him.
“Cap,” Sunggyu said in amusement. “So you’re against me now?”
“It’s Woohyun’s order,” Cap replied quietly.
“True. But still, whenever I’m around, I’m the one you obeyed.”
L pulled back and Cap stood up. L licked his lips, he had always wanted to know what it felt like to have a one on one match with Cap. Cap was, after all, the best fighter between them. Though he probably wouldn’t stand a chance against him.
Sunggyu felt a tug on his coat and looked back. Woohyun looked really depressed and he knew his boyfriend’s just wanted to go home. “Get in the car,” he said and Woohyun obeyed. Dongwoo also got in the limousine and L was stepping backward, closer to Sunggyu. He usually would be the last to get in the vehicle.
“Cap,” he quietly said. “You are dismissed.”
Cap bowed deeply to Sunggyu.
“You are given a day to find out why you’ve disobeyed me. And if you think that he’s the one...”, Sunggyu got into the limousine and L closed the door for him. He didn’t even finish the sentence because he knew Cap understand what he’s going to say.
You’ll know what to do.
***
The next morning, Cap still hadn’t returned and Woohyun could only hope that he was taking Niel back to his house safely. Woohyun was feeling a bit happy if Cap was actually in love with Niel, maybe that was the whole reason he protected the younger male. And Sunggyu probably understood this. He understood-because it had also happened to L and Dongwoo.
After taking a shower, he was surprised that Sunggyu was still in the house, waiting for him.
“Get dressed, we’re going somewhere,” Sunggyu said.
This time it was only just the two of them, without any driver, without his bodyguards. Sunggyu was the one driving, and Woohyun didn’t ask where they headed. It was a pretty long trip, and they stopped by a flower shop on their way.
“What’s your mother’s favourite?”
Woohyun blinked in confusion but answered anyway. “...lily?”
And Sunggyu bought a bouquet of lilies with few other flowers.
The rest of the trip was filled with silence, they were getting to the place that Woohyun had never known of. He also didn’t know when he fell asleep, but when Sunggyu shook his shoulder to wake him up, they had already arrived.
Rubbing his eyes sleepily, Woohyun got out of the car and looked around cautiously.
They were in a cemetery.
Woohyun blinked and looked at Sunggyu. The older male only gave him a comforting smile before taking Woohyun’s hand in his, and they’re walking together. With one hand laced with Sunggyu’s and the other hand was holding bouquets of flowers, he had a feeling that it’s probably Sunggyu’s mother’s grave. He once told him that whenever he wanted to be alone, Sunggyu would always come to her grave and just sit there by himself. It was always a precious moment for Sunggyu.
They stopped at a pretty tombstone, and Sunggyu knelt down. Woohyun immediately read the name on the stone, and it was his mother’s. Sunggyu closed his eyes, it seemed like he was praying and put a bouquet of flower in her grave. “Mother, I’m not alone today. This is Woohyun.”
Woohyun smiled and knelt down too, hands were still full with flowers. Sunggyu seemed calm and peaceful as he stared lovingly at his mother’s grave. Woohyun patted his boyfriend’s back, looked at Sunggyu for a while before glancing around at the other tombstones.
And he froze.
Beside Sunggyu’s mother’s grave, there were three other graves, and all were carved with his... Woohyun held his breath and narrowed his eyes, just in case he was wrong, but he read it again, and it wasn’t mistaken. All were carved with his family name.
They were, to be exact, his father’s, mother’s, and Boohyun’s name.
Woohyun gasped and stood up, giving the older male a questioning look. “G-Gyu?”
Sunggyu noticed that Woohyun already acknowledged it and slowly stood up. He dusted his pants before gazing at Woohyun seriously.
“Your parents didn’t abandon you, Woohyun.”
Woohyun looked shocked. He took a step back, and he was having a little trouble breathing. His eyes were wide, his lips were trembling, and judging by the look of his face, it was also clear that he was confused. “B-but...how?”
“Your parents were on their way to Niel’s house,” Sunggyu continued. “When the accident happened.”
“A-accident?”
“The truck driver was sleepy. And that night, in the highway, was also foggy. By the time your father realized it, it was already too late,” Sunggyu stepped closer to Woohyun’s parents’ graves. “I was there on my way home from here. I noticed...your car. Sometimes your father would pick you up by that car and you’re all going together, to the restaurant. There’s this Chinese restaurant down by the road and you and your family love to eat there. At least three or four times a month.
“Your father-and Boohyun, who was sitting behind him-died right away from the impact. They were...crashed. But your mom...she was still breathing when I reached her. And she held my hand,” Sunggyu held up his hand, reminiscing grimly. “Blood was everywhere... But she didn’t last when the ambulance arrived.”
That explained everything.
“Umma...”, Woohyun stared at his mother’s tomb.
“But you know what her last words were?”
Woohyun looked up.
“She said, ‘Take care of Woohyun’,” Sunggyu repeated the words quietly.
Woohyun’s tears silently fell to his cheek. His shoulders were shaking and he looked down. They didn’t abandon me. They didn’t abandon me at all.
“But...those rumors...”
Sunggyu shrugged. “People must’ve noticed when I removed all of your stuffs away. Neighbors were making that up and they chose to believe in it.”
“Oh my God...”, he started to sob again, and knelt down to put the flowers on their graves. “Umma... Appa... Boohyun... I’m sorry... I’m so, sorry for doubting you...”
Sunggyu let Woohyun cried again as he stood behind him with hands tucked into his jeans. Finally, finally. He told Woohyun the truth. He felt like the burdens were lifted from his shoulder. And no matter how much it hurts, it was for the best. Woohyun deserved the truth, and he was relieved.
“Why...didn’t you tell me sooner?”, Woohyun asked between his tears, still with his back facing Sunggyu.
Sunggyu looked thoughtful for a while before answering. “I’m afraid you just won’t believe me. Come on, a stranger, kidnapped you, and told you to your face that your parents died and he’s here to take care of you? It’s not exactly a bright idea. And...I don’t know, I have to be honest, you were pretty...different. Woohyun. Remember that one time when your university held a science fair project? The participants were from everywhere and Sungjong was begging me to accompany him to sneak there. So we did, and that’s when I met you.
“You were laughing so hard with your friend-Chanhee, right? And at that moment, I think I was...amazed by your laugh. Your smile. Your beauty. I just got to know you more.
“Ever since then I just couldn’t stop spying on you. It would make people laugh, but the almighty Kim Sunggyu couldn’t sleep for a whole week because of Nam Woohyun’s laugh. You were so bright and shining. But that moment when I had you tied in my room, you were...different. You looked...fragile.”
Sunggyu hugged Woohyun from behind tightly. He pecked Woohyun’s neck.
“That’s why I waited.”
Woohyun grabbed Sunggyu’s arms around him and even though he was in tears, he was happy. This man...this Kim Sunggyu really loved him from the start. He had loved him before his parents even died... And to know the truth...he felt so relieved.
“Can I say that it’s fate that brought us together?”
Woohyun laughed a little and nodded before leaning back to Sunggyu and looked at the tombstones. Sunggyu didn’t get any reply, but from the way Woohyun intertwined their fingers together, he could tell that his boyfriend agreed.
Yes, it’s fate.
***
By the time they’ve arrived back at Sunggyu’s house, Cap was there.
Woohyun was relieved to see him there, but there’s no way Sunggyu would let him go, since he’s the strongest one. Niel had called Woohyun, surprisingly, telling him that everything was going alright. Even though it was still hard for Niel to accept his relationship with Sunggyu, but he was willing to try, and Niel made him promised to keep in touch. Woohyun agreed but still kept the truth to himself. Niel needn’t know. At least for now. And Niel seemed to be shy when Woohyun asked was Cap treating him well or not.
Probably something happened between them.
As they got into the room, Woohyun pushed Sunggyu and the latter fell with a soft thud on the bed, before claiming Sunggyu’s lips passionately. Sunggyu eagerly kissed back with a hand behind Woohyun’s neck, and the other hand was teasing Woohyun everywhere.
Soft grunts could be heard from Woohyun’s lips as Sunggyu found his sensitive spots.
Sunggyu flipped him, and now it’s his turn to be on top, hovering above Woohyun, and the latter was willingly let himself to be touched and stripped. When Woohyun was completely naked underneath him, and his hands were traveling all over Sunggyu’s chest-trying to take his shirt off, Sunggyu was smiling, and Woohyun slowly stopped.
“Gyu..?”
“Nothing. I was wondering why you didn’t hate me.”
Woohyun’s hand stopped on Sunggyu’s second button. “I...”, he bit his lip. “I was a bit pissed-just a bit-at the fact that you hid them all so well, but... What you did was right...and...if you weren’t there...none of this would’ve happened...right?”
Sunggyu stroke Woohyun’s cheek with the back of his hand.
“And...thank you, for not killing Niel...”
“I knew Cap was around though,” Sunggyu chuckled slyly. “And I knew he’d protect the boy.”
Woohyun rolled his eyes. “And...for burying my parents-and Boohyun properly. I’m really, really grateful for that.”
“You’d do the same for the person you love.”
Woohyun stared at Sunggyu longingly and cupped his chin. “I’m crazy for you, Kim Sunggyu,” he said and his hand went back to Sunggyu’s shirt. “Too much talking. Touch me already.”
Sunggyu laughed but nodded anyway. He kissed Woohyun lovingly on the lips, while letting the latter explored his shirt again, trying to strip him out of it. The moaning and kissing continued, and Sunggyu stared and stared at the smooth skin Woohyun had. You are mine, Nam Woohyun. When both of their hands were entwined and Woohyun prepared himself for Sunggyu’s thrust, the older male leaned forward.
“Never forget any of this,” Sunggyu whispered softly.
Woohyun tightened his grip on Sunggyu’s fingers.
“That I, am your first, and your last man.”
End.
“Does that mean you’ve been stalking me?”
“I said spying. It’s different.”
“Whatever. But wait, did you send L or Dongwoo to monitor my activities?”
“...I paid someone to report your activities to me. Someone called...L.Joe.”
“Chanhee’s boyfriend? Oh my God. Okay, so spying it is then. Oh my God why the hell would you choose L.Joeeee?”
“Stop whining, Woohyun. Geez, you complained a lot lately.”
“I bet that wasn’t in the reports L.Joe gave you! Haha!”
“He told me that you have double personalities though-ouch!!”
“...so...what happened to the truck driver?”
“L had taken care of him.”
