This is America, ain't it? Who the fuck's stoppin' ya?

Oh god. Please, please believe me when I say I did not type this long entry out all in one sitting. It was a week's process-a long proper week's process. I even documented my progress on Tumblr and Twitter multiple times. I have proof. I can show you the receipts. I also may have driven myself mad plenty of times while writing and cried blood but ( Read more... )

Oh, David Tennant. I seriously think it's hilarious how many DW co-stars/guest stars are easily finding more and more work than he is. I mean, that's what it seems like. Freema has L&O: UK, Carey Mulligan is in various movies, Russell Tovey and Lenora Crichlow is in Being Human, etc.

And I totally thought that this past week's Mad Men was kind of a drag. I just didn't really care that much for it? It might have been because "The Suitcase" was just so brilliant. I'm not surprised at all about them heading down the Don/Peggy route even though I'm not crazy for it, either. I just...really prefer Peggy single for a while.

It's also great there's someone else out there who feels the same way about the girls of The Vampire Diaries and Stefan/Elena. I love them so, so much. Seriously, my heart totally broke for Caroline but I'm just glad that her situation will be different since she has her friends and Stefan to help her out so I'm just hoping that will keep her around. I'm still surprised on how good it actually is.

There's a piece of me who wants to laugh at his difficulties but I genuinely think he's a talented actor, so I am still rooting for him. It must be rough coming off his successful tenure on Doctor Who and it doesn't help he basically left to avoid being typecast for the rest of his life. I am glad he got his dream job with DW but, if he wanted to avoid that, he should've left much earlier than he did. IDK. Maybe David should stop doing television and film all together right now and do more stage work. He should take career advice from a twenty-one year old history student.

I want a single Peggy too. I understand why she feels a little worthless regarding the whole singlehood business but I wish she finds some happiness with being alone for awhile. She has some great friends and a successful career! Yeah, there are people like Trudy judging her for not having a family at her age but stillLOL ikr. I didn't want to like the Vampire Diaries truth be told. I wanted it to be shitty and annoying but I got so stuck in and somewhere along the ( ... )

David really should, I was impressed well enough with his Hamlet. I mean, he did some stage work beforehand, right? I do feel a little bad sometimes because I am a horrible person and it's mostly because some people I know are bat shit about David Tennant it gets grating.

Oh my gosh, speaking of Trudy that scene in the bathroom in The Suitcase and then Pete's face when he saw them both come out together? Killed me.

But really, Stefan and Caroline was just so cute and I love the show of them. Caroline is so precious and Stefan is just a good guy. Same here. I adore the friendship between those three girls too much. I mean, it's just so great to FINALLY have a high school set show where the main girls legit are great friends.

I believe David trained as a stage actor so I don't understand why he wouldn't be comfortable enough to return to it for a few years. If he wants to do television and film again, he should go for it. But, really, I still think him taking a break from telly/film would be best. OR AT LEAST STAY IN THE UNITED KINGDOM. David isn't a good Hollywood fit. I think he's appearance on the Emmy red carpet proved that.

LOL he was so worried that shit might have gone down. DON'T WORRY, PETER, PEGGY WON'T TELL ABOUT THE BABY YOU FATHERED.

Stefan really is a good guy. That's so rare on television. He does something out of the kindness of his own heart without expecting things and return. It's amazing and strangely refreshing. But, yes, I agree with the friendship with the three girls. They may have their disagreements but they are first and foremost friends.

This week's Mad Men underwhelmed me, though some of the Blankenship stuff had me crying with laughter. SHE'S AN ASTRONAUT. SHE DIED LIKE SHE LIVED: IN THE COMPANY OF PEOPLE SHE ANSWERED PHONES FOR. But yeah, dude, I was like ARE THEY SERIOUS WITH THIS MUGGER THING? REALLY? REALLY?

lol Rubicon lol W/E WE CAN BE THE ONLY PEOPLE WATCHING IT IDC. Fandom doesn't care about it because there's no one they want to slash Will with, probably.I also plan on watching Undercovers forever and ever, I still have a lot of hopes for it. I am really really into the two leads and the show got me into the fact that they are a cute married couple of several years already- I'm not usually into domestics ( ... )

Cooper-was it Cooper?-should go into the funeral business. He would make a killing writing for obituaries and the sort. I WANTED TO DIE DURING THE MUGGER SCENE. Someone on ONTD, land of the stupid, said that scene was necessary to show why Joan and Roger would have fear over black people. LOL oh. I didn't realize that racism was something that needed to be justifiable and I thought it was a poor excuse for them to fuck, lol. I JUST CAN'T WITH THIS SHOW'S FANDOM.

Honestly I think you are one to something. Rubicon isn't exactly the most 'slashable' show and it doesn't lend itself to fanfiction. All you can really do with it is discussion and a few picspams. BORING! That's also partly the reason why I don't think Undercovers will grow a sizable fandom. I guess you can do Steven/Bill (but, seriously though, that hero worship was borderline creepy) but LOL a show starring two black folks in a happily marriage. NOT GONNA HAPPEN. Though, knowing fandom, fanfic writers will be more into Samantha/Leo. ;--; I am not hating on Leo. He was ( ... )

FRINGE. YES. EVERYTHING YOU SAID. I got my best friend to start watching this summer and I told her that most people don't like Olivia but to give her a chance and I'm SO GLAD my friend didn't hate her/say she was emotionless. I love Olivia so much, she's one of my favourite female characters on tv right now and I too don't understand how so many people say she's emotionless!

I'm so glad we got a whole episode just to her. It really showed how amazing she is as a character and she's not just sharing the awesomeness with the other cast members. SHE CAN HOLD HER OWN YEEEEEEEEEEEAH!

I'm still unsure how I feel about Alt!livia and Peter but I won't decided anything until I get a whole episode about it. COME ON EPISODE 2!

MTE. MTE. MTE. I just knew I was gonna love her after the pilot episode. She showed a certain curiosity about her and, god, you knew there was something broken about her. I just love her character development and Anna Torv is a master of being out the subtle nuisances. I judge you if you don't like Olivia.

I watch 90210, too! I just never talk about it because my flist does not seem too interested in it. Liam/Annie are my OTP as well but a lot of people seem to dislike Annie. Which I can sort of understand, but oh well!

I hope Teddy's new gay storyline is okay. Adrianna's lesbian/bisexual story was so horribly written. Teddy's new love interest is adorable, though!

Nikita was just plain ...boring. I wanted to like it but I was severely underwhelmed by it.

Mekia Cox was a fantastic recast even though it plays with the common colorism issues within the black community and Hollywood casting.I'm confused by this. I thought the first girl looked bi-racial so that's why they recasted her with Mekia Fox? Or is that what you're talking about ( ... )

I AM ALSO PLEASED TO HEAR SOMEONE ELSE WATCHES 90210! I've only talked about it one only time outside ONTD because I don't know anyone else who watches it outside, like, my younger sister. God, I am seriously sweating over Teddy's storyline too. I didn't like Adrianna's story either. While there was some cute moments, it was just a mess overall. I guess it didn't help that it was also happening start of her music storyline. I hope they took what they learned from writing that and improve upon it with Teddy. IDK. I think this is the only time I'll be legitimately interested in the guy and that's solely because I don't want to see a train wreck.

I loved the Mekia Fox recasting-don't get me wrong-but I still find it annoying how darker black women and men are often regarded as supporting actors instead of primary. It's obviously not Gugu's fault for winning the role, I would never say it ( ... )

I have a feeling the Teddy/Ian story may not be good, but I could be wrong! I hope that I am.

Oh, yeah, I understand what you mean now. Gugu's skin complexion is lighter than, say, if Kerry Washington had gotten the role. Do you have any issues with a non-American actress playing the role?

Yes, Bonnie is the only one of the characters who does have the right attitude regarding Damon and his antics. Elena will probably forgive him in a few episodes which is utterly ridiculous. I agree, I think a lot of it is racism(and sexism) but whenever a person alludes to it, people are so quick to deny it. Which is in no way surprising.

You are probably right. I at least have Naomi and Liam/Annie to look forward to.

I am glad my explanation made sense. I am never great with judging how understanding my own writing is. I don't have any issues with that honestly. I think I would've only been annoyed if Gugu's American accent was terrible but it wasn't and I love her so I am very pleased she got the role. Right now, I can't even imagine who I would want to replace her as Samantha Bloom and I am usually good with alternative casting.

Yeah people aren't quick to realize their own gender or race bias towards things. It drives me mad when I try to argue from that prospective but someone has to do it. I am just please for right now Elena isn't bullshitting around Damon. Her speech about why they aren't friends because they are always trying to manipulate the other was spot on.
