I can't believe there aren't a gazillion comments of love here on this fic because, even back when I first saw it on the Kink Meme, this was one of my favouritest fics ever. It's really short, and the whole thing is one action -- *cough* -- and yet, within such a short amount of time you managed to fit in every precious little gem of Romano's relationship with Spain into it, comfortably, unobtusely. Something about the story makes it so emotional; it's not just about the sex, there's something deeper to it that Romano hasn't come to terms with yet himself. And then that layer of Catholicism, how it seems to bring actual shame and makes you feel so sorry for the poor guy. . . I suppose it helps that you have experience in religion, so you can understand the frame of mind better. . .?

You are a wonderful writer, and I'll say that while I've not read your other fics (to my knowledge) and therefore can't compare them, I feel that you are right to be very proud of this one because it is a nice little masterpiece. This is already the third

<3 I actually loved the Catholic touch i am, too! =D, especially the sin comment, because it made Lovino's plight - considering Spain's influence and the time period - all the more realistic. Plus, y'know, this fic was also pretty hot in general. <3

High five! :D. I think those two would go through Catholic guilt of sorts in our current time, so just imagining what it must've been back then kind of hurt (because like you said, Spain's influence and all). I guess that's why in the end it was so emotional. And thank you for the "hot" part. ♥

I can relate. A bit. I never felt any guilt when I realized I liked girls too, but I did feel guilty because I wasn't feeling guilty. I was already not going to Church (due to other RL stuff) when I realized and I wasn't... I can safely say that it was one of the worst parts of my life (ironically, or maybe not, I still consider the days I was in Church as the best ones of my life).

It was hard to think of this; how to put into words the feeling that you're going against God, because as we know, it's not easy to describe
