I almost never do anything real for my birthday, and I've been super-sick this month, but I adore the Red Elvises (now Igor and the Red Elvises) and they are in town, so... if anyone wants to come out for some Siberian rokenrol that would make it extra-awesome.

I've really been enjoying the offerings of Garden Variety Cheese at the farmer's market: they bring sheep's milk feta and hard cheeses, as well as delicious Greek and basil lamb sausages. I literally slept through all of yesterday. At night I was still exhausted but had slept myself out, so I didn't get to sleep until possibly 4am or later. I feel not so terribly awesome today. I'm ruthlessly dosing myself with caffeine in hopes that it will keep me up through the day. That's a tricky balance, because it can disrupt my sleep in ( Read more... )

If I time the painkillers right, I can actually get through the night without waking up at 3-4am, which is doing wonders for my mood and general achiness. Right now I'm taking two aleve a day and staggering the tylenol around that.
