I'm going in for surgery tomorrow (well later today technically), whee!

Today was a long hard day but I have a rented wheelchair and this knee stroller thing that's actually pretty cool except it steers like a cow, so it's hard to use in the house.  Also it is pretty tiring to use, though not nearly as bad as the crutches.  Carl was an amazing help ( Read more... )

Thanks! Just one more long day and it will hopefully go better from here on out. :) I am making sure I don't plan much for the next few days. (Other than Thanksgiving, coff.)

You know those sitting pillows with the arms? One of those might be high enough and firm enough when laid face down for elevation but soft enough to not be torturously uncomfortable.

Hope you heal up quickly!

Ooh good idea... I am using the wedge pillow I use for my apnea with some others piled on it, to get a good but comfortable elevation; I figure my apnea can live without elevation a few days while I get another, but I'll look at those too if they have them. I'm going to end up sleeping in a vee. :)

he's been a LIFE saver and even didn't laugh at me butt-whumping up and down the stairs!

To be honest, I probably would have laughed at you butt-whumping up or down the stairs.

I'm pleased to report that after the surgery Flit went up the stairs quite handily, bumpityrumpitybump. No carrying was required, and it really does seem nicer to recover in one's own home than a strange hotel.

One of the things I'll be giving thanks for Thursday is the rain holding off for the stair parts, despite it being quite rainy the last few days.

Le Cigare Volant was delicious.
