1. Walked down to Spadina's Chinatown in search of sunshades. This now qualifies as A Trek, and I'm mildly pleased I managed it without knees screaming at me as much as they might have. I think Brokedown Palace is supposed to give people the fantods. It's interesting how he's starting to work it into the universe as a whole, where I thought it was an independent standalone story when it first came out. I'm so behind on those books, several volumes, possibly a half dozen.

What's the Italian name of the plant?

You need a parasol? Do people use them? I only know them from historical movies.

Do the toddlers notice the change in music? I'd think they would.

I just wanted to jump in here and say... I use an umbrella all the time when I'm out walking in the sun. I'm not keen on sunscreen and like flemmings said, hats and sunglasses aren't sufficient.

Also sunscreen smells. And sticks. And turns you into shake'n'bake if you're near sand.

Also my water pills mean I'm supposed to 'avoid prolonged or intense exposure to the sun' even with sunscreen. So yes, sun shades or umbrellas. (Umbrellas can be used for those sudden showers as well.)
