KQ's and my card from you arrived a couple weeks ago--thank you so much! In fact, yours was the first card we received this year. I sent one to you yesterday--honto ni gomen, it will not make it in time for Xmas but hopefully for the New Year.

I'll look forward to it. Truly, no one expects you to get anything done at this time of year except work.

Much sympathy on the cold, and I hope it clears soon.

If those are the Carole Nelson Douglas pastiches, then I think I know those ones. Entertaining if rather slushy round the edges.

Thank you. You'd think if it was as bacterial as it seems to be, the penicillin for the tooth would have knocked it on the head. /self-pity

They are, and they are. At least there are no explosions in them. (Warily eyes A Game of Shadows, which I thought at first was a GRRM entry.)

By all canons of logic, it should have. Clearly you have the new variant of supercold, or something.

(It does sound like the GRRM naming pattern, doesn't it?)

Hollywood goes from Adjective-Noun titles and OneWordTitle, that I can never keep straight, to A/The X of Y, that I can't keep straight either. What happened to titles like Last Year at Marienbad or The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie?

Though possibly if the films were more memorable to start with, the problem wouldn't exist.
