Oh wow, I totally could have written this entry. Every word of it including inserting the song and that this song came on when I found out it was a serious relationship, and the part about holding on till there's nothing left and even the disclaimer at the end. Every word. So uhh, yeah, been there, and in a way it was for the best because it was a pivotal moment in my personal experience that I am constantly looking back to and learning from. I hope you learnt from your situation as well.

Wow, that's kinda scary...

I learned that I have a greater capacity than I thought to really care about someone. That's for sure. And I learned that I shouldn't ask more of people than they're willing to give. And to be thankful to have awesome people in my life, regardless of capacity.

I had a couple of "friends", (for a lack of a better term, like that...One in high school and one in college. The song by THE CARS: "It's All I Can Do" was sort of my theme for both of those guys.
The college "friend" turned out to be gay, and I am email friends with him still but moved on in my love life. The high school guy...I "saw" him once on MySpace, and I know he is still single at age 48...Incapable of commitment?

Things work out for a reason. My life is better.

I thought this was written beautifully and liked the bits of song dispersed throughout. It felt genuine and real.
