We put a lot of emphasis on outward appearance period. It sucks, heh.

I feel like I operate on a lower level of energy than most people. And that sort of mutes out highs and lows. I can be happy and sad - but for the most part sort of sail along in a neutral calm area. I'm not sure I've ever been 'jump up and down' excited about something.

YES, THIS! And when I've tried the "jump up and down happy" thing, I just end up embarrassed, lol. It's just not me. Some people freak out and flail and that's how they show excitement. I'll just say, "wow, that's really exciting." Muted. Yes.

My boyfriend is one of those people who doesn't smile, and people are always asking me if he's angry or upset. I tell them "no, he always looks like that" and they've eventually stopped asking. I don't get why people think someone's mad or sad just because they're not laughing.

Wouldn't it be more awkward to be laughing all the time? Like...how do you explain that? heh.

yeah, I mean like if my friends and I are all talking and joking, they think he's angry but really he's just not the type of person to laugh out loud. If he even just grins, it means he found something hilarious.

There's far too much emphasis on outward smiles ... So long as you're not scowling at everybody you cross I suspect you're just fine. ;)

Haha, no, I try not to. A scowl may slip out unintentionally now and then, though.

I think that makes you at least content with your life, and that's a good place to be. :) Great entry!
