Bring the shiny! And the sparkles. Then bring more. Picwar.

Picwar! T-the 23rd?

You can find attacks 1-22 here.

So in her last installment, Locky went for the insidious awful that seems mostly ok and then you realize you are in a sartorial Otherworld where foofy hair, dime-store children's sunglasses and hair bows meet up with Western fringe styling to bring together the worst of the 70s and 80s:

By brilliant, I assume you're referring to the blinding shining perfection that these costumes represent as they resplendently shoot pure rays of light in all directions, scattering rainbow goodness like droplets of water flying off a shaking wet dog.

. . . These actually may be in my top 10 loved Arashi costumes of all time&hearts

I think our brains are definately dying slowly because of this picspam in the best way possible :P Because at first it was all "arrrrrrrrg this costume is horrible" and now it's "arrrrrg this costume is horrible...but...I still can't help but like it somehow" Hee!

I love this costume without irony or reservation.

The first time I saw it, all I could think was 'why on earth would anyone do that to someone?" Also, 'those look hot as hell.'

After watching other concerts, and really, by the end of the set, I was brainwashed. Mind-control spores, I tell you. *shakes fist*

I kind of put this costume in the same category as the Dome La Tormenta 2004 costumes (black sparkly tux with gold sequined Union Jack on it)--so very wrong, yet restrained and . . . I love them both, ok?

Also, all the jumping around, running, and sashaying in this costume is awesome&hearts

And where else would someone have the audacity to mix stripes and leopard print, I ask you> Not even thinking about the sparkles. Genius.

Aw, man, I was gonna point out that the sequins make little rainbow sparkles! Guess you weren't completely blinded after all. But now I have nothing to say.

Spores, huh? That's a very B-movie explanation, and you know JE would never produce anything... that... cheesy... oh.

I always forget how HUGE Sho & Jun's boas are. I remember that they exist -- and in my addled recollection, it is only they that keep the costume from being completely classy (they should all have neck accessories like Aiba's or Nino's). I too have been ruined here. I think it's because the color scheme doesn't really clash with itself, as we see in so many other costumes. Even the two-tone stripes don't really offend, since the colors complement.

As I was typing this up, I was thinking that there were a lot of B-movie-esqueness going on here . . . man-eating clothes, spores, etc. I was in a goofy (sleep-deprived) mood.

And I have full faith in JE's cheesiness&hearts Maybe they could do something like that in one of the concert interludes ^^" Though it seems a bit more K8 material to me, honestly.

The little rainbows are awesome and pretty ^_^ They don't show up nearly as well in the little pictures as they did on the full screen, obviously, but I think they're relatively visible.

I know what you mean about those boas. Augh feathers and tinsel in the mouth >_< And when they dance and run, those suckers are everywhere. I always think that I've made them bigger in memory, and then I see them again and think, holy crap, JE, really? That boa goes up over his head. *____*

Classes ended yesterday. I both feel freed and like I need to get into high gear already. Boy comes back some time on Sunday, but I'm not sure when.

I don't know... I think Arashi do plenty of cheesy stuff in interludes that just doesn't get included in the DVDs. Ohmiya SK, for a start, but from fancams I've also seen them playing musical chairs, confessing to each other in local dialect, pretending to molest each other on the train (okay, molesting each other on a pretend train), etc. Though why they feel the need to keep their DVDs limited to songs and MC, I couldn't tell you. It's not like they're preserving their dignity in this manner, since there's plenty of dorkery and molestation in the concert proper (and all their late-night TV).

My semester is done, too, but I'm not sure what final grading is going to be like, since I did the 'do 3 out of 5 papers' thing -- everyone has the option to replace one low paper grade by doing an extra, and I'm not sure how many people are planning on using this last paper in that way. Only five people need ( ... )

hmmm . . . I suppose . . . I was just thinking in terms of cracked out flight-of-fancy interludes, rather than just dorky interludes . . . .

My semester is done, too, but I'm not sure what final grading is going to be likeThat would make me crazy. I have papers here staring at me and I really could get them done this afternoon/evening, and yet I have m otivation. Another student showed up today with his term paper a week early, so I guess that should motivate me to get off my rear, huh ( ... )

still having fun following up your picwars xD i wonder if you've finished digging up V6's costumes. i only have one V6 DVD and i could only remember about 2 decent-looking costumes in it =P

Thank you ^_^ With V6, since it's non-Arashi, it's in Locky's corner, which means I get to wait anxiously to have them revealed to me. V6 has come up, but only once or twice, I think. Locky's spreading the love around. She keeps threatening me with HSJ, but it hasn't happened yet . . .

But I'm glad you're having fun ^_^ We were on a bit of a break and have revived \o/ Yay for summer!

And define 'decent,' please ^_~ Do you mean really decent, in the 'I wouldn't flinch if I saw it on the street' sense, or decent for JE sense or perfect for picwar sense? ^_^

I ... I love this concert ... I think this is what suckered me into ARASHI hook line and sinker ... (sorry fishing references in honor of Ohno of course)

I love these outfits! They are precioussssss! And yes Ohno's faux tribble boa!

I love pretty much everything in this concert, with the possible exception of Jun's solo outfit. But you know, even it is so terrible that I kind of love it. God help us all when I actually start using Jun's solo outfits for picwar. I strongly considered it for this one, but then went with one of my actual favorite costumes . . .

I have the concert broken up into 3 long mp3s and listened to almost the whole thing while I did this and I think after I catch up on the Arashi tv I've fallen behind in, I may put AAA Dome on while I do some reading and grading. The Boy is gone for another work trip, so he doesn't need the TV and I think it a public service that the new upstairs neighbors know what they've signed on for as soon as possible *is evil*

Ohno's faux tribble and Aiba's fax leopard .. . Seriously, I don't know why they put heavy clothes (sequins weigh a lot and then hot scritchy accessories on these guys when they have to be active and under bright lighting. Those furry scarves and the feathers? Can you imagine ( ... )

What's funny here, is that we don't have Labor day on May 1--in the US, it's the first Monday in September. I'm not sure why we have a different one. We do have May Day on may 1, but I think it's only celebrated by elementary schoolchildren. Every once in a while, I will put together a May Day basket for a friend or co-worker who's having a rough time, but I didn't even think of it this time ^^" *fails ( ... )

OHNOES TO TREE D:
It must've been agony to just wait and see which way it'll fall (>.<)
I approve of it's choice as well.

Now. Let's begin the shiny ;D
SPARKLY SPORES &hearts
And why yes, I do think the scarf goes perfectly well with Ohno's hair.
And thank goodness for that, if it didn't match and they went for the hot pink scarf as advised by the ever helpful Nino it would've eaten Ohno's hair up XD
I kinda like Nino's skinny scarf to be honest, I'm surprised he manged to convince Wardrobe people he should be wearing a normal scarf instead of a FURRY one, meh.

Last caption:
Nino: Ohno can do it 3 times a day.. OH yeah~

Congratulations on surviving!
Though summer is going to be a tough one, bring up the fans, quick! *_*
I'm doing pretty good.
NOPE, NOT GOING INSANE WITH EXAMS COMING UP, NOOOOO

Re: tree:

Let's just say that I didn't get much in the way of sleep, which made for interesting classes in the afternoon ^^" yet still not as insane as the day I mentioned hentai during class in relation to 17th century cavalier poetry . . . google Herrick's "the Vine" and this will make total sense--I promise

I'm glad you enjoyed the spores ^^" I definitely had weird science-fiction vibes going when I typed this up, what with man[-eating accessories and spores that neutralize key sections of the brain. ^^" Science is a wonderful thing ^_^

I love how in certain shots, that scarf of Ohno's really seems to be an extension of his hair ^^" I am happy they didn't take Nino's advice. I actually kind of like Nino's scarf too, though, like the pants, it looks really itchy and scratchy. Seriously, none of them look like appropriate garb for running and sweating in. ^^"

But I totally love Aiba's long fringed leopard-fur scarf&hearts It flails around and almost hits the ground and . . . &hearts

Nino: Ohno can do it 3 times a day.. OH ( ... )

Herrick is kind of amazing like that. Did I mention he was an Anglican minister? ^^"

I'm happy you checked it out ^_^ And the summer won't be too bad, because I'll be hiding in air conditioning.

And good luck on your upcoming exams!
