I see dead people

Over the past, hm, *checks timestamps* two weeks, I've been watching seasons one through three of CSI. As a procrastination tool, that so totally beats cleaning the bathroom. The downside is that between that and moving furniture and sitting on the balcony with Jung, I've got a bad case of the looming deadlines. eep ( Read more... )

I say leave them up. Add introductions if you must (especially if you feel the need to explain that you no longer hold some of those opinions), but I'm all about historical evidence...

Yeah, that's the strongest leave-them-up factor, I think, even beyond the whole laziness thing - that is, in fact, what I said at the time.

Yeah, it seems to take more energy than I have these days. And I'm not even exhausting myself playing with power tools. ;)

What beth and deb say. Plus look at re-releases of books (of whatever you are studying), even if the author is still alive they often just write a lenghty introduction noting what's changed for them instead of rewriting everything and possibly clouding both old and new positions.

Leave them up -- I used to go visit your site just for the rants before we ever had a single fandom in common. But adding introductions or notes or something on how your opinions have changed would also be good, and if you do so then I'll go reread them. (I'll probably do so sooner or later anyway.)

Don't you love the fact that sooner or later, you end up in the same fandom as, well, everyone? *g* I might do some notes or something, yeah. Or maybe just a disclaimer for the whole page (comes naturally to a fanfic writer, after all).

I suspect laziness is winning. Maybe ranting is a young fan's game.

It takes so much energy, you know? I don't have that much energy to spare these days. I am always amazed at the level of energy required to do certain things in fandom, such as: hold a grudge, rant with passion, perpetrate passive-aggressive maneuvers, engage in lengthy debates on unimportant (or cyclical) topics, and flounce. Do these people take vitamins? Are they on a special work-out regimen? Or is it that we are just getting old and don't care anymore? Just one more of life's little mysteries. *g*
