the love that dare not speak its name (sakshay).

Disclaimer: I was going to filter & flock this but then I thought, fuck it. Those of you scared out of your wits of Indian cinema will know to avoid this. Those not smart enough to do that - your bad. May offend religious sensitivities. Will freak out 95% of Earth's population. MUCH media of various forms (pictures, video) behind cut.

The Sakshay ( Read more... )

Eeee, perfection :D LOL :)

I think I might have to steal some icon. Could you maybe also make some still ones? Ones that can be used on livejournal?

So, ever considered to put this on ship_manifesto (or rpf_manifesto maybe).

Ohh jhana87 is responsible for the animations.

I'm not much of an icon maker, usually just crop&resize pictures but feel free to steal my Sakshay icon from the post or make any of the screencaps into an icon.

There's rpf_manifesto? Well, hmm, the thing is it's more like "on-screen pairing of off-screen stars" so technically not RPF. Plus, I think it'd REALLY scare people. :D

Yeah, I think it's more normal ship_manifesto than rpf_manifesto anyway because it's really more about the characters than their real life personalities.

Plus, I think it'd REALLY scare people. :D

And introduce them to the wonderful insanities of Bollywood! *nudges*

Yeah.. I mean I could theorize that Akshay married Twinkle because Saif broke his heart but hahaha, that'd just be all kinds of untrue.

What an introduction to Bollywood. "Hey, Indian film newbie! Get this Sakshay overload!" I think it might kill people.

WTF those animations. :)))))))))))

I like the air-humping the best. Who is that leaping over them? o_O

Bwhahaha. OMG this manifesto is the manifesto to end all manifestoes.

And how did you find such a perfect (!!) screencap for the "come fall in love" bit? Genius.

See, NOW you're glad I have a shitload of MKTA screencaps when at first you were like "WTF that many!". ;D

I love the way Saif hugs Akki and Akki's all "Eurgh you're such a girl!". It's touching.

Weeeell when you get home.. ;)

Keemat is so hard to find. I had to get my copy illegally but I just need to get the real DVD..

Yeh Dillagi is okay. More for Kajol than Sakshay, but the dynamic already is established in that film - Akki kicks ass, Saif is goofy.

I love Akshay's rain song with Kajol in this one. Yeah, Saif's songs are goofier, but this one was actually really pretty.

I was kind of neutral towards the rain song and the Kajol-Akki songs but all of Saif's songs were kind of rocking (Saif fangirl bias speaking, hi), though had suuuuuch bad fashion, especially the one with Kajol and the car and the green suit.

Hoton Pe Bas (the one where Kajol wears blue) is so my guilty pleasure #1 song from the 90's.

I just laughed incoherently while sitting at my desk here at the office. Am going to the Sakshay Special Hell. Ah, how I've MISSED that place. MKTA is one of my favorite movies. I used to be able to quote the dialogue. "Kya kaha tumne? Sab kuch...ho gaya?!?" And I was sufficiently warned about TCMS, so I never watched it.

Priceless. And, really, I was always more of a Sukshay fan, because have you SEEN "Waqt Hammara Hain"? OMG. The matching shirts? I can't even articulate how gay that was. Akshay has apparently been two-timing Saif all these years with Sunil. I'm sure God is okay with this, though, because He knows we appreciate the wealth of beautiful Bollywood man love.

Sukshay! I am filled with Hera Pheri love, those two were so married in those films, always bickering like an old couple. Loved it. And Saif did some of films with Suniel, too (not seen any but I've clicked around IMDb). 90's golden gay OT3, perhaps?

MKTA is wonderous, truly is. I don't really pride myself on having seen it multiple times but I have, though I still don't remember the line you quoted. Which scene is it from?

:::face-palm::: How could I forget Hera Pheri? Yeah, that was totally their "long awaited reunion" movie, carrying on the love that began in Mohra and WHH so many years before. I swear they threw girls into that movie for no reason at all. Saif and Sunil played brothers in one of my favorite obscure movies, "Pehchan" and it's highly gay and incesty all the way around, so, yes, I think it's safe to say they're the Gay 90s OT3.

The line I quoted was when Saif's character "discovers" that Karan slept with Vasanti and is acting all shocked that the inspector had his way with her.

Ahh yeah, I thought it was that scene but wasn't 100% certain. I mostly remember the key Sakshay scenes, "muskuraee aur pyar se please kehna" & when Akki does this big monologue about how Saif should step out of his film world and how in reality cops don't get multiple takes like when shooting films and then he's all "sirf ek take! Sirf EK TAKE!". And Saif being all impressed with Akki when they first meet, "Wow! Kya bolta hai! Kya marta hai! Kya style hai!".

I think I read your thoughts on Pehchan while surfing your site once randomly. The movie where Saif wears loads of leather? Sounds like Keemat's second half.
