The sushi date and other things I've been thinking about since

Sorry that she didn't show you some wonderful new non-trashed side to herself and change your mind about her entirely. But it's good to know that you're ethical enough not to just use her (which would probably have been easy, given her propensity for the drink). You gotta hone that gaydar! :)

Well, if I'd been the type to just use her, then I may have well been one the nasty, asshole guys that I hate so much. Good gawd! I'm so lucky that's never happened to me... still, I hate that!!

As for the gaydar... Yes!! ha ha!! The biggest problem is that I'm high maintenance girly, so everyone assumes I'm 100% straight... the same goes for the girls that interest me. Unless its a fetish party (where people are more open minded to diversity), or a swinger party (where I have to say NO to guys, and eyeball their wives... ha ha ha!), or a girls only party, there's little hope of meeting the women I find attractive and interesting.

This is precisely the dilemma I'm talking about... Of course, having been a part of the goth/fetish scene for the past 8 years, I have to admit that I **have** met really fabulous friends through it. The only difference is that the women with whom I've become friends are straight, or are now such good "friends", that it would be weird (for me -and- them) to suddenly try turning it into something else ( ... )
