MERLIN!!!! OMG!
GAAAAAAH! TONIGHT'S EPISODE WAS EFFING AMAZING! HOLY CRAP!
*swoon*
Oh man. I haven't been this passionate about a male/male relationship since Chazz/Jimmy from Blades of Glory (and Alan/Denny of course, but the Boston Legal fandom is virtually non-existent). Also, this show is simply kickass. I adore it. Have I mentioned how much I love the soundtrack? I'm actually pondering whether I should buy the CD or not, but if I'm lucky, someone will upload it to one of the Merlin comms. Anyway, tonight's episode had:
1. Instant Arthur/Merlin banter and loving violence &hearts
2. Obnoxiously arrogant Arthur
3. Merlin completely devoting himself to Arthur's happiness
4. Uther being hilarious. UTHER! Usually he's extremely drab, but tonight he was awesome.
5. Inappropriate love vibes between Uther and Morgana, as always (I'm sure it's just me being inappropriate, but seriously, they look at each other like they want to do each other, which is so very wrong because Uther is her foster father. Maybe he's taking foster father lessons from Woody Allen?)
6. Merlin saving Arthur's ass and not being one bit bitter that Arthur can never know. Merlin is officially selfless when it comes to Arthur (as if repeatedly being sent to the stocks on purpose to deflect blame from Arthur wasn't proof enough)
7. Morgana finally got interesting.
8. The show is trying to do an Arthur/Morgana romance, but they are failing miserably and more and more we get a brother/sister vibe, and for some reason this makes me really, really happy because it shows how much more romantic Arthur is with Merlin than Morgana, even though it's unintentional. Plus, I have trouble getting past her NOT being Arthur's half sister in this version. Ooo, I just looked her up on the original legend and apparently she wasn't originally his sister (but she was in later versions). But, there was never a romance between them either. And she was Guinevere's lady-in-waiting. I actually like that this version switches that around and puts a whole new spin on the Gwen/Lancelot/Morgana story. I just don't like the idea of Arthur/Morgana being romantic, because there is literally no romantic chemistry there. Just... no. I know they're going there, but I think it'd be better to do a brother/sister relationship instead of a romantic one. Oh well. It's not gag-worthy, mostly because the center of the show will ALWAYS be Merlin/Arthur. But I've been wondering for the longest time how Gwen would end up marrying Arthur, but since Gwen and Morgana's roles have been reversed, I guess Morgana is going to be this Arthur's Guinevere? I don't know. In the Lancelot episode I got a strong vibe that Merlin was this Arthur's Guinevere. Bwahahahahahaha. But, Merlin would never choose another knight over Arthur. Ever.
9. Merlin is seriously in love with Arthur. There's not even any room to debate it. He was monumentally hurt when Arthur said he was just a servant and not his friend.
You'll be my friend for life.

I didn't do it today either, because I got sidetracked. But eventually I will get it up. I WILL! DAMIAN MUST NOT BE IGNORED! But in the meantime, I will serenade you:
