"Just won't turn on" is usually a power supply problem with is pretty cheap as far as computer things go (about $20, more if you hire someone to install it).

Although I will admit to having that problem and the switch on the back of the computer was turned off :)

Ha, I should check that. I have a bad tendency to use my computer as a footstool, so there's a distinct possibility that I bumped something--knocked a wire loose, somehow kicked the switch, etc.

I'll try one or two more things when I get home (checking the switch, trying a different outlet in the power strip, possibly even trying a different cable if I've got one). I'm really hoping it's something simple that I can fix...
