I got flowers today from my parents, which is sweet beyond anything. It's a really beautiful spring mix, all lilies and sunflowers and daisies and a few little roses; and they've been sitting in the study, filling up the room with (sorely needed) bright colors and just a hint of fresh sweet flower scent that I catch every now and then when I turn

If I could count the number of birthdays I've thought 'wow, I didn't picture myself here', I would get to at least half my age. But most of that comes from the fact that my dad's shut down at work was nearly always over my birthday when I was little, and he would barely be home for weeks, and then all my friends were gone- there was one birthday where I simply worked because no one did anything for it. But I think, more than anything, I've sort of discovered that it doesn't really matter what I do on my birthday. It's never really much of anything... so it's stopped mattering, I guess. :)

This year will be a pleasant shock, I think.

Yeah - like I said in the other post, it's been a long time since the actual day mattered, specifically. It's more a general, "26 is a lot of years" thing. I thought 25 was a bad milestone. At least at 25 I could celebrate a milestone; 26 is just one year older than 25. D=

This year will be a pleasant shock for you, I am thinking. As of Sunday unless Jeff and James say otherwise, I am buying a ticket SO THAT I CAN PARTY WITH YOU GUYS ON THURS.
