Itunes meme:

1. Put your iTunes on shuffle and take the first 25 songs it gives you.
2. Link to the lyrics lol, not happening.
3. Let your friends assign you a song to write a drabble to. -- drabble: 100 words. I will try to stick to this so I actually finish.

((so I'm lying here, just staring at the ceiling tiles, just thinking about... oh, what was I thinkin' about?))

When he wakes, it’s difficult for McCoy. He’s expecting a dressing-down, still- tips of his ears red while Jim stands next to him looking as repentant as a six-year-old in front of this man. It was a familiar role, not a week ago.

Nero’s changed everything. The bastard.

When Pike finally opens his eyes after surgery, McCoy wants nothing more than to hear about how much of an idiot he’s been. That stunt he pulled back there, sneaking Jim aboard, what was he thinking? It’d be safe. NormalBut the Captain’s on all sorts of pain medications and hasn’t talked much since he woke and was informed of his condition. Most of the time, when he’s conscious and thinks he’s alone, Pike stares at the white ceiling of Medbay, eyes unwavering and clear. McCoy watches this with growing concern, and wonders if he’s going to have to be the one to approach Pike about it. His mind helpfully offers lingo from his classes (the ones he’s still ( ... )

RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER. I feel no shame, because being in a choir forces me to start on the Christmas songs early ANYWAY.

God, I hate you sometimes. Not really. I figured someone would choose it. FML.

Don't worry! Given my karma, I'll probably get ridiculous ones and you can make me write them. :| Nooooo, FML is when your rehearsal venue kicks you out without prior warning and you end up outside in the freezing without an adequate coat. Singing Christmas Is the Warmest Time of the Year.

My meme. You stole it from me. Don't lie; I won't believe you.

Oh jeez-us, either Bob Geldof's song up there, or Sweet Dreams. Yeah.

((sweet dreams are made of these; who am I to disagree?))

It's all too easy to be sucked into Jim's fantasy of charisma and charm. It's far too convenient, and McCoy simply refuses. He's anchored down in reality with bourbon and regret, was startled into the waking world brutally and isn’t about to take two steps back. He forces himself to look indifferent when he stares Jim down from across the room. It breaks Jim's heart a little. McCoy knows; he can sense it by the way the kid's attempts are getting a little more desperate, a little more edged with fear.

McCoy wants to tell him, leave, kid; hold your head up and move on. But Jim's head was never held very high, for all he pretends. He's just as broken as McCoy; but unlike Leonard, who almost flaunts it, Jim holds it in like the only secret he has left.

And after a few months, McCoy knows why. Jim's being used; used by the Admirals, used by Starfleet in general. They're molding him into someone they think he should be. (From across a paradox that's ripped open time, ghosts ( ... )

fuck and damn. i love how you manage to take this happy-go-lucky universe and add these odd, off notes to it, just little things here and there and it brings down the whole complex. really thought-provoking.

i like it. <3

I don't exactly know how to write straight-up happy. It's why I haven't done the Christmas one yet. Thank you, though. ♥
